New EVOL hps.

Emailed AoA on Wednesday asking if they had any in stock. Got a response later confirming that they did. As soon as I finished up at work on Thursday I stopped by there and picked it up. Very happy with it.

There was however a small hiccup. While at AoA Kip aired it up and even fired it. Everything was fine. Got home and shot it until I needed to air it back up. When doing so it leaked from the preasure guage. Attempted to tighten it up with no luck. Heh. Even put a small scrach in it, but that was an easy fix. So no big. Anyway I took it back down to AoA and they took care of me with no issues. They even went through the whole EVOL, so I just hung out a bit and waited.

Good news is that everything is working great now. Would like to thank Kip who sold me the EVOL & optics, and everyone else there who took care of me at AoA.

Sorry. Doggo would not move.

So currently its shooting the 20 grain Howlers at 1095 fps. Been slowly breaking it in and have noticed the groups really start to close up after about 100 slugs were put through it. Also cleaned the barrel just recently and that also improved the accuracy. I did order up a good variety of .22 slugs to try through it as well as some heavy pellets. If I manage to get out this weekend i will try for some really long shots with and see how it goes.

Kudos to AOA for addressing issues which sound troubling in relation to a limited production and quite pricey airgun! Shouldn't its manufacturer verify its functionality before leaving the factory?

It is a common occurrence for an o-ring to fail after not having held air for a period of time, (no matter the price of the airgun). Something that has to do with the high pressure holding the o-ring against the sealing surfaces. That being the case and these (along with most all pcp's) not being aired up for shipping, it stands to reason that an o-ring may become a leaker. The fact that a leaker is a common occurrence with pcp's is why AoA does a pressure check and shot string on most of the gun's they sell. A slow leak such as this isn't immediately detectable, and commendation goes to them for correcting the issue when brought to their attention.

Im using 1 in high scope rings. There is more then plenty of room to clear the magazine. You can even hand load slugs/pellets with no issue. As far as slugs goes... It likes the .218 NSAs. Its not picky with the weight it would seem. I tried all of the NSA slugs. All but the 17 and 31 grain slugs. I am currently set up to shoot the 25 grain Griffin slugs. Nice slugs but for the price and how many you get, its not really worth it in my opinion. Still really good slugs though. Once they are gone, Im likely not going to get any more Griffins. I have shot the 25 grain JSB pellets. They did very well. Also tried Some 21 grain H&N pellets. Shot well also. I would not recommend H&N, JSB, Howlers, or FX slugs. The FX slugs were by far the worst. Then the Howlers. It was a mixed bag with the others. I do have them in several different weights and still messing with them. If you want slugs, go with NSA.
