Seems you're basing your concerns and opinions on a lack of understanding of this and other daystate electronic guns.
Daystate make exceptional quality guns and drawing parallels with what I can only assume are groups like Crosman and Daisy is pointless. Nothing they've put out suggests that they're suddenly, randomly planning on releasing a junker.
They have been putting out electronic guns for over a decade now and they are extremely reliable with even the old mk3's I've seen running strong without much more than an eventual battery change being necessary. Not like we're all waiting for our other electronic devices to randomly die?
The electronics on this are just an evolution of the red wolf, with the previously external programmer now inbuilt with a proper UI. It's just now has the added benefit of a mechanical reg to further aid consistency and efficiency, also nothing especially complex. If anything it ought to increase longevity by reducing the strain on the electronic hammer and valve by reducing working pressure.
Even the in shroud chrony is nothing new, having been inside the MVT Airwolf many years ago already, where it worked brilliantly, allowing for setting a specific velocity as well as providing a feedback loop to keep things set perfectly. If you've read you'll see they've specifically addressed all of the small issues the previous chrony had in the new design.
Regarding the question of a moderator,the chrony is inside the shroud. The moderator screws onto the shroud like any other shrouded gun. Nothing unusual.
The regulator is a totally separate part, inside the gun and has nothing to do with the chrony/shroud. As for a saucer, I can only assume that's autocorrect for silencer?
So you can see they've done nothing heavily experimental here. Just taken all the best parts of their previous gunsand combined them. The updated electronics will allow for fine and absolutely repeatable tuning. It's the sum of the parts that looks to be groundbreaking.
