New Crown Continuum Arrived!

Awww yeah, I actually forgot this was coming today!!! Luckily I was working from home and was here to sign for it. Busy this morning, but I opened the box to peek and my initial thoughts are this is one sexy little beast!

This is the new FX Crown Contiuum, I'm in love with the synthetic and not such a huge fan of laminate these days. It feels LIGHT with this 380mm (or 400mm?) barrel. More excited to try the 700mm slug liner though 😎

congrats very cool..

Bob O..old rig above..?

funny I inquired about them with palm beach airguns..2.5 weeks ago they knew nothing.. I

mentioned contact me once you do...never heard back.

I think they got them in ~8-9 days ago. Yeah, that's the Crown that I got from Bob, currently setup to shoot 30gr slugs to 930-935. I made some slight modifications and it's a beast! Anxious to sit down and mod this new one now.

Awesome! You're gonna love it I'm sure.

Looks nice! Keep us updated on how it performs.

Matt

Thanks, will do! 😎

I will also be interested in what you think. I talked to Ken Hicks this morning about guns and of course like everyone else in the world he’s hot on the impact. I mentioned that I lean toward a more conventional rifle and he mentioned this contiuum (or is it continuum?) I haven decided so I too will be interested in seeing who they shoot and perhaps some options as to advantages one FX gun to the other .

I think the next year to year and one half it will be interesting to see what develops

Very nice. Can’t wait to see what kind of accuracy you can get from a 380mm barrel.

I’m waiting for the .25 cals to come in. Palm Beach sounded like they were hoping to have them in a few weeks.

Now Questions

Does the 700mm barrel come with the slug liner?

Did you get the new “side shot” magazine with it?

Did it come with that lower pic rail installed?

I see Palm Beach Airguns gives you the option for a Donny or FX moderator. Which did you get? Pics?

Interested in this new barrel system. I thought all Crowns were going to this setup but I see the Yellow Jacket Giles was shooting still had the sliding shroud.

Kind of crazy how little info is out there on this new gun. You’d think FX would be touting all the new features but I guess you just have to buy one and figure it out. Even there vendors seem really uninformed on the products.

Thanks

@srtmat - I got the DonnyFL version. It came with a compact screw on moderator. The good news (at least for a guy like me that has other than FX airguns) - the threading appears to be 1/2-20 and not M20. I recall reading that this was something FX was planning to change at some point anyhow (but don't quote me on that).

It doesn't come with the 700mm liner, I bought it extra (and would do it again in a heartbeat).

The synthetic models come with the lower pic rail installed. My understanding is the laminate versions of the Crown will not come with the rail, however (again don't quote me) - I think the laminate Crown Continuum's do come with the lower rail from the factory.

I'm planning to test it out this weekend, and put it through its paces. I'll do a little review and share it to this thread, but feel free ping me with any questions about it.

The length overall with the short barrel installed is 34.75" of pure badass!

This is way different now. I'm finding this much easier to work with in swapping liners out!

Thats awesome and looks like it'll be much more stable.

Nice thing is it looks like it may be quite an easy conversion to do for the old system. Just a case of removing the barrel sleeve and machining and epoxying/attaching a similar threaded brass bushing to the liner so it can be screwed into (or maybe onto) the port.

Reckon I'll give this a try with my crowns 500mm pellet liner - it previously gave issues with poi shift if you so much as breathed too hard on it so nothing to lose and everything to gain 🎉👍🏻
