new crossman 362

lots of talk about the new 362 on other sites not to much here just wonder why may be because a lot of members here use higher end stuff i like coming here because the layout of fourm suits me better does anyone care to chime in on this rifle my main question is other then it being a 22 cal bolt action and 8 pumps max it reminds me of a crossman legacy any body here have one yet.

Benderville,

Yes there is a huge buzz on the 362, many will sink more money into this new rifle, for now I just enjoy it for what it is, which is a very well thought out pumper that has a great price point. As for me it gives me a modern platform to plink around the yard. I also find it to be my acceptable answer to PCP's, quiet, accurate and enough power for what I do.

Benderville,

This rifle for the price is as close to guilt free as you will get and it also is the perfect “Truck Gun” which saves me from using one of my vintage springers or pumpers as my daily go to air rifle.

My only caution is since it is such a low cost air rifle and there are many after market parts available that will actually work for this gun thanks to the 22xx and13xx series Airguns made by Crosman, the modifications could potentially cost you as much as a high end springer or entry level pcp.

I a actually thinking of purchasing a second only because of the price and nothing else.

Yep. Got mine before Christmas. For what is is it’s a great solid little rifle. Crosman should have made this a long time ago. If you got kids or some youngster you were thinking about getting a pellet rifle for Christmas or a birthday or something this is perfect. Much better rifle than the 2100, Legacy, 760 ect.. It makes the same power as a 392 but much easier to pump. Better options for mounting a scope, red dot or what ever.

something to note. The trigger housing is metal and it’s not the same plastic trigger as in the Disco/Maximus. Some guys on GTA jumped the gun and bought the brass trigger from Baker Airguns before getting their rifles only to find out it doesn’t work in this rifle. So save the money. I didn’t find the trigger to be terrible. It’s not great but I can live with it as is for now. As popular as this rifle might turn out to be something might come out in the future for it so I’ll wait.

like your barrel shroud where did you get it

Had a TKO that needed a home. Not a fan of the soup can look. The TKO are very light. Don’t even notice it up there. Have them on my 2400KT, 2260 and my Maximus. The the 362, 2400KT and 2260 are very quiet. They’re my James Bond guns lol🙂

Well, it certainly is a good looking rifle, especially for a hundred and ten bucks. Have any of you checked what kind of velocity your getting? Crosman states 875 fps with max pumps, but I would guess they are talking alloy pellets.

Crosman claims 700 fps with 8 pumps and lead pellets.

With 12 pumps I had JSB 14.35 zipping along at 696 fps on average here at home. 8 pumps here isn’t the same as 8 pumps down there in the low lands. We also got property up in Gunnison at 9500 ft and up there 8 pumps would probably be the same as 4-5 pumps at sea level. So I don’t pay that much attention to the manufactures stated maximum pumps. I’ll have to put more time in to determine what number of pumps gives me x fpe of power for me. I do know that at 12 pumps it still dumped all but maybe the slightest burp of air so I consider that to be the maximum number of pumps for me at home. That’s as far as I’ve gotten so far. Haven’t had a lot of time to shoot much over the chrony.
