New Cricket Owner

I just received my Cricket yesterday! Dirty Harry at Top Air Guns Was great! here's what he told me before shipping it.
"After cleaning the barrel (filthy) and adjusting the hammer spring tension, the magic pellet indeed turns out to be the JSB Diabolo Exact Jumbo Express .22 Cal, 14.3 Grains, Domed,-500 ct with 954 fps, 29 ft/lbs and 1mm groups for 6 shots at 10 meters!"
I'm in Laguna Beach, CA now and of course there isn't any where local to shoot but that doesn't mean I can keep my hands off it. After checking it out I thought I'd fill it. I have a Great White tank that's at just under 3800psi. I made the mistake thinking the Cricket gauge was also in psi and couldn't figure out why the cricket would only fill to 250. Then the light went off and I googled bar vs psi.

Would some one explain how to relieve the pressure?
Here's how Harry package the gun and scope;

Scope with quick release rings (Harry mounted and zero'd )

Just need a place to shoot

"linsfreak"camera on temporarily.

I'm so confused, which tube do you shoot out of?
Does it have a grenade launcher?

:)
You have to realize that to the uninitiated eye this looks like quite the extraordinary gun/scope combo.
Probably very similar to what I notice as a motorcycle rider: to most people a motorcycle is either a "harley" or a "crotch rocket", there is surprisingly little nuance in tthe average spectrum of knowledge.
So if you show this PCP bullpup with a bazooka of a scope to anyone outside the tiny airgun world, more than a few people will do a doubletake.

That's it, just a thought that amused me, no information to see here, move along.

Thanks jking I'll search for Ernest Rowes video.
pretbek, I also have a camera set up but will probably wait until I get home (Baja) to set it up and play when I figure out a stable platform that's portable. Maybe a tripod. I have a Polaris Ranger I do all my back country traveling with a platform in the back that works well. I'll post some photos later. Airguns are legal in Mexico but just the looks of the Cricket may cause problems at the border or at one of the 4 military checks going down. I'll just hope they don't open the box.
Keith, TopAirGun.com I read some some comments about Dirty Harry on the Marauder forum about his services. All were good and his price includes testing that others charge a lot to perform. Check out his video on his site. Pretty impressive. So the higher price is actually a good deal. He answered all my e-mails quickly and gave sound advice before I place my order. His 10m test range seems a little short to figure out what the magic pellet is but with his experience I feel he knows what he's talking about.
Thank you all for your comments!
Edit: Found the video for degassing,
but without the tool I'll have to improvise. Thanks!

I let Dirty Harry know I had mentioned him here and he shot me an e-mail. Here's part of it.

"You actually did not overfill with 262 BAR remember, you can go up to 300
BAR (4350 psi) like it says on the breech block and shoot it down to 125
BAR. ... You could actually fill it to 800 BAR (which you can't) and it would still
shoot the same because the internal regulator won't let any more than 125
BAR pressure to the firing valve."
After all the fondling I've done with this new gun I realize I never looked at the writing on it.
Thought I'd pass this along in case others could use this bit of wisdom.
Thanks again Harry!

I have a 22 and 25 Cricket both tuned by the master( Ernest Rowes)
I shoot my guns 98% of the time at 48 yards , Sometimes I get the chance of 100 yard shots,
I have been looking at the new Vulcan, but one hole groups is one hole groups nothing better,
May have saved myself 1,500 bucks.
Not real sure how you can shoot better than the cricket, 250 yards, Just not sure.

I'm still jonesing to get out and shoot. Stuff just continues to come up. How ever I am shooting a new springer I bought that is helping the shooting addiction .

Open season all year and shooting indoors is something new to me. I am going to a hunter ed class to get a CA license just in case I happen on a critter/pest when I do get out. Plus I'll be able to get a new one next year without the hassle. You'd think Viet Vets would be exempt or anyone that went thru the military . Now I'm wanting a good portable compressor to fill my tanks because where I live there are no fill stations.
