- Just wanted to share a pick of my new shooting bench that is almost complete, ( fine tuning the seat). It should help my new wildcat produce some tight groups the table top weighs almost 700lbs any thoughts ? Even got the wife to help pour the pad.

This is mine I like not having the seat attached to the bench one less thing to move while you are shooting unless they are permanent like the one above. The legs are made from 1.5" galvanized pipe I over threaded the pipe so it screws in easy and has about 3 inches of adjustment in each leg. The bench is made from 1.5 or 2" plywood a friend gave me years ago he had made the same bench and I liked it. The bucket has a padded swivel seat it is handy to keep the sand bags in. The rest I made years ago.

Now that you have built that 700lb shooting bench - you need a high precision 50lb front rest to go along with it !!

I have a round adjustable bench that is not in the pic because I'm am trying to fine tune made of concrete and filled the legs as well. I built this on a series of saw horses and ended up using a deweeze round bale loader to finally place it on its resting place

I'm wanting to build a bench. Excuse this question if it's obvious, but I just want to make sure.... The heavy weight and solidity of the bench is there to minimize any movement when the shot goes off, yes?

the solidity of the bench is to stop any movement B4 the shot and especially during the shot
rickety benches move the cross hair all over the place
looking thru the scope you will see every movement of the bench when you touch it (the bench)
and the cross hair will no longer be on target
even your heart beat shows if you are in contact with gun and bench
