Tuning New barrel set up for uragan .30

Well, its either gonna suck or shoot great. We’ll see! This is early stage but should be shooting by saturday. Its 30mm, with 5 more sleeves all bonded solid to the 14mm barrel. The end is bonded with a .812-32 threaded aluminum coupler into the body of the carbon fiber and about 1” into the reciever, then a barrel nut similar to a savage rifle. The end is sleeved over and capped off and then a ronin mod. Not sure if its gonna work or not, but never know until you try! I shot a quick 5 shot at 50 yards with the current tune of nsa 65.5 at 990fps and it was one hole, with no epoxy in place yet just slip fit. If it doesnt work oh well lol.

I'm not super familiar with the Uragan inner workings, although I have shot one. Can you give us a few more details on the barrel, and what has been done to the gun to make that power level? I'm a tinkerer, so I'm all about the numbers and how you got there :D

Ive got a few threads on it but basically;

huma reg 155 bar

custom valve ( steel valve, peek seat, removable bronze guide)

lightened hammer

bigger plenum

35” tj barrel

Some things I noticed right away between having a shrouded tension barrel, and a solid fixed floating barrel:

its no longer hold sensitive

Zero poi shift in 3 days over different temps/conditions

same poi for multiple slugs/pellets

Gun just “feels” totally different now ( for the better)

edit: Id like to add this was all done to try and tune a 35” barrel. This seems to be the answer. None of this is really necessary for shorter barrels.

Rallyshark, You know you learn something new everyday. I have been shooting my Uragan for 2 years and I always took for granted when it said .30 cal. it meant .308 just like on my 7.62x51 rifles still say .308 and the same in reverse. I did see that NSA does have both pellet slugs in .300 (7.62) and .308 (7.82)

I'm still using the stock Uragan barrel in a 1-12" twist.

We're all learning all the time, no doubt. God knows I still have a lot to learn myself :)
