New and need a little help

So many options and so little knowledge lol. Not sure what to do now haha. Unfortunately for me there is no location to look at little alone shoot any of these so makes things even harder.

Maybe one of the forum members here on Airgun Nation lives close enough to you and would be willing to allow you to try one or more of their rifles during a visit.

I dont see many remotely close to me so doubt that is much of an option. Good idea tho. Thankls

Well, might as well pitch in my tuppence ...

Model 34 is a great rifle and in .177 it would shoot flat enough to maybe take squirrels out to 40 or 45 yards after you got it shooting small enough groups. If you are interested in a PCP the Diana Stormrider GEN II in .22 would do what you want. If you did not regulate it and charged it with a pump it would give you a dozen or so good shots at around 24 FPE, VERY quietly and would come in under your price point even with the pump. You might even slip in a cheap scope and stay pretty close to your price point. Here is a thread:

Any reasonable quality 15+ FPE springer or otherwise that can hold a golf ball at 35 yards will take racoons all day long as long as you do your part. Look for the BSA Lightning Makes Meat thread in the hunting section.

I have had some .177 in the past and for some reason just not a huge fan when looking how animals where taken with that vs how they are taken with my .22 after i purchased my first one.

....benjamin discovery with pump package deal for $350 at places.....i'd go with the maximus euro hunter , tho....get .22....it's more accurate , and there's more pellets for it... they are LOUD, tho....that tko stage5 is very effective for these crosman-type barrels....and under $50 for the muzzle device.... that's the hang-up with pcp/hpa guns - too much extra-cirricular bowlpoop.... but they are very effective at the over 50 yard distances....(i hunt with an old .22 walnut disco - it's like cheating , no recoil...you can see where your pellet misses and correct to knock dove at 70 yards+) ........ check around on american airguns classifieds - just try to deal with someone you can actually call and talk with , you'll know right away if it's someone who has airgun knowledge - cause you'll be on the phone awhile...hheheehe.... and actually , the .22 jim shockey , or most any np2 gun has around 20 ftlbs (788+fps with 14.5 gr pellet)....my jim shockey steel eagle shoots around 820 fps , and my discovery shoots around 845 fps with a 13.5 gr jsb.....around 22-23 ftlbs.....i have found that to me well effective for anything fox and smaller....maybe even a coyote if placed in the ear , but idk about that yet.... also , when youre dealing with a crosman, benjamin/sheridan product , especially something theyve just produced -- they have the best customer service , and you'll be be able to get cheap parts.... .....other than that.... .22 diana 350 with monte carlo stock (the original .22 diana 350 mag stock) , or the .22 diana 350 pro-compact.... cheers... - paul.
