New addition to the family ....FX Impact Compact - bronze - .22 cal

Okay, when it comes to selecting my next gun I am like my ex-girlfriend when she was trying to decide what shoes to buy, but once she decided she got what she wanted. And sometimes you make a leap of faith after you get sick of waiting, in this case it was for my FX Crown Contiuum, and so an opportunity came for an FX Impact Compact in bronze I took it. And yes, the dealer was right, the gun is so much prettier in person. I can’t wait to start playing with the gun. The balance is amazing and the 25 inches in length, without the Sumo, could make it a larger backpack gun for hiking / camping gun.

Specs: FX Impact Compact with the 500 mm barrel chambered in .22 cal with Element Optics Helix scope mounted to the gun with Eagle Vision mounts and at the end, a DonnyFL Sumo moderator. She is a beauty and next to his brother Brocock Compatto Sniper XR in .177.

Good morning and thanks. I think the Impact Compact mates well with the Brocock Compatto, guns will have different uses. And I think the next one will be Cricket II, which I almost ordered from the Czech Republic this week, but I was able to get the Impact. So the Cricket will have to wait until next year.

I will do a side by side “review / comparison” of my thoughts of the Brocock’s build vs. the FX Impact Compact. But overall both companies are top tier manufactures so I think it is a reasonable comparison.

Update on the Impact Compact:

Due to my living situation I am trying to keep the Impact for now on the lower range of ft/lbs / joules. I have been doing some playing around with some different pellets and accuracy, expansion etc. One thing I have noticed at “factory” settings the Impact seems to like the HN 21 grain slugs more and the HN slugs expand more than the FX hybrids and fly around 70 FPS more than the Hybrids at factory settings.

In 2-3 weeks have access to an official 100 m range indoor so I will do some testing there with probably 18 grainish JSBs and maybe some of the HN and Hades.

Right now I am just learning the gun, so updates will come as I learn more, because this Impact I can tell has a LOT to teach me about PCP air rifles.
