New 700cc bottle questions answered and the bottle installed on my Red Wolf HP.

So, now I have received my two bottles. I installed the FX valve into one of them and put it on my Impact M3. Filled it with air (to 230 Bar) and everything works as it should. My question is now, can I fill this to 300 bar, even though the M3 actually has 250 bar max pressure marked on it? Similarly, the pressure gauge only goes up to 250 bar, not 300 like on my older impact MK2.

Any suggestions for changing out the gauge to one that reads up to at least 300 bar?

Chris

Chris,

I think that the 300bar fill question is best left up to FX USA Service. Heck, I don't even fill my 250bar FX guns normally beyond about 235 or they seem to get kind of internally 'tight'. But I also haven't even tried full 250B fills on my double regulated FX's, just out of habit I guess. And I am almost always convenient to an air supply.

The Impacts use 1/8" BSPP threaded gauges, and changing out the gauge is easy. Degas, thread the old one out, thread the new one in, if leaks use the new seal which came with the new gauge. If sealing on an o-ring, don't overtighten or you will get zero reading on your gauge.

The last 315 bar 1/8" BSPP gauge I bought was this one from Trenier.

BUT VERIFY WITH FX FIRST BEFORE BUYING THE NEW GAUGE AND FILLING TO 300.

Thanks Tom. I am going to call FX USA in the morning. For now I probably won’t go up to 300,(heck, I never take either my Leshiy 2 or my Huben K1 up to 300) but it would be nice to know. In any event after reading your post I went to Trenier and ordered one of the gauges.

I received my bottles today

I will shoot it tomorrow and give an update on shot count.

My 480cc bottle gave me 25 shots from my .30 MKII.

The 700cc bottle gives me 48 shots.

From what I recall, the 300bar valve has more threading on it. It's more of a safety thing. Threads go all the way down the length of the valve vs about halfway with the 250bar version.

The 300 bar valves do have more threads. However that’s not really my issue. I already have new valves from FX and they are the fully threaded 300 bar ones. I know (or at least assume) the bottle/valve combo will handle 300 bar. The question is whether the M3 will handle 300 bar, since the markings on the gun actually say “Max Pressure 250 bar”

It will, but it may make your front reg freak out. If yours doesn't creep, never touch it. I've all but given up on the front reg on mine, I'll be installing a reg delete when it gets here. I do run a Huma in the rear so even with my front reg turned out all the way, she holds steady.

Well, I finally bit the bullet and tore down my Kral completely, and dropped in one of the 700cc bottles.

The neck size was a double issue with the Kral's walnut stock.

- The neck diameter is 1/8' larger than the stock aluminum bottles, meaning some slight dremel work to allow it to fit in.

- The neck length is huge, about double to aluminum bottles neck length. This means that there is a pretty big gap now. It doesn't bother me, but it might for others.

It is noticeably lighter than it was with the stock bottle. those aluminum bottle are pretty heavy! Tomorrow I will fill and see how it all tuned out.

Can someone please confirm if this is the correct bottle for my M3?

All of the post have been referring to direct shipments from "Helen" in China.

At $209 including shipping is this a better deal than ordering direct from "Helen?

Thanks in advance. Rod in San Francisco

The bottle looks like it should fit. Certainly the thread pitch quoted is the same as for FX bottles, but of course there’s no guarantee. Of course, generally Amazon returns are fairly easy, so if it doesn’t work you could be able to send it back.

As for price, I purchased two bottles directly from Alibaba, via Helen Li, as quoted above. I paid $360 for the two, including the shipping cost. The bottles themselves were $132 each, but shipping for the two was $96. However the shipping for one bottle would have been $82, or the $209 price for one is better than one bottle from Alibaba would have cost me. There’s also no question that Amazon is a lot more convenient (and quicker) for people here in the US.

Chriss, thats good intel. Thanks.

Can you or another member confirm that I only need to remove the valve from the existing M3 bottle and then screw it on the new 700cc bottle?

Wham Bam, Thank you Ma'am ?

Well, I don't know about the "Wham, Bam, Thank you Madam" bit :)

However the answer is yes, I was able to simply unscrew my FX valve and screw it into the new bottle.

Just remember that the older FX valves do not have full length threads. As a result, they will work in the 700cc bottle, but the bottle should only be filled to 250 Bar, not to 300 Bar. To use it at 300 bar (say on an Impact M3) you need to buy one of the new 300 bar valves.

I just ordered 5 of these last night. Helen made me a little table which showed the price per bottle with the shipping cost (to California) included, and to me 5 seemed to be the sweet spot - $158 each. I didn't want to get stuck having to pay that high base shipping again. Already have one going to an AGN buddy... maybe I should have ordered more!

I order 9 bottles from ALSAFE and there was no mention of me being responsible of paying the customs fee. Some of my friends who order the directly from all safe didn’t have to pay it either. My package was stuck in customs for about a week and I had to fill out a Form 5106 with Department of Homeland Security. After receiving my package FedEx sent me a bill for $383.75. Did any of you have to pay the customs fee.

I had no Customs charges at all, but any charges are always the responsibility of the purchaser. I think that there are no Customs duties for purchases under about $800, but I am not certain about this.

My bottles skipped right through Customs with no issues.

In the past, however, whenever there has been any sort of 'delay' in going through Customs, I have had to pay fees (specifically in my case for a gun purchased from Krale). Other times, when things travel smoothly, even for a similar or even a higher purchase price, I have not had to pay Customs duties.

I guess it is kind of like a lottery - If checked and of a certain amount then you will pay. If not seen or checked thoroughly by Customs, you don't pay. Part of life when purchasing direct from an International seller.

With all of that said, however, a $345 Customs duty seems excessive to me. If you paid, for example, $155 per bottle for your 9 bottles, I think that the Customs duty is only about 4%, which would equate to ~$55 on your purchase. Where they got $345 for duties is is unknown by me, and as I say, seems excessive. That's about the equivalent of 25%!
