New .22 Wildcat just showed up and have a question.

I just got my .22 Wildcat from AoA and it is sweat! I haven't had time to shoot it yet, as I'm still waiting for my Athlon scope to arrive, but I do have some observations and maybe one concern. I bought the Huggett mod with the Wildcat and it is unbelievably quiet. By far the quietest PCP I've owned. And the trigger is really nice!

My concerns are:
The gun is shooting around 860 with JSB 18's, according to AoA's test, and I might want to turn the HST up at a later date to get the gun shooting around 890. I have read on this forum that others have had issues with the HST being fixed with Loctite and have stripped the screw head trying to break it loose. Any advice? I know heating the screw is the normal way to deal with Loctite.

Also - The HST is already about 3/16's inch in from being flush. I don't want to just crank the HST if the regulator needs to be adjusted first. Can anyone tell me if there gun was set up with the HST in a bit, and if so, did their gun shoot 18's at about the same speed? And - were you able to just turn in the HST to get the gun shooting hotter w/o adjusting the reg.

I might just live with the gun as is. It's still plenty of power, and it is so quiet shooting at 860. I'm hoping to get out to the place I shoot on Friday to get her sighted in and do more chrony testing.

Thanks!

I just got the .25 Wildcat also been shooting Benjamin Domed pellets through mine.I have really been dropping the squirrels too!!!! my factory wildcat has plenty juice to kill the squirrels every time I hit one it goes flipping out the tree no matter how far it is ...kinda funny too!My Marauder could have only dreamed to punish the tree creepers in this way. Also I am totally in love with my shot count, and as of today I just got my 33.95 grain jsb's and wow!!!! I was in love with the Benjamin domed but after having to clean my barrel 4 times already from build up I will never shoot them again out of my FX Wildcat jsb's 33.95 only from now on or the 25.39 jsb's something from the wax or polish they put in those Benjamin pellets I had to really clean the heck out of my barrel only after shooting 1 tin (200 pellets) because accuracy was all over the target like 4" groups at 50 yards, but after the cleaning and switching pellets my groups are back to less than 1/2 @ 50yds.! great gun big powwwaaa!! so any ways was thinking of adjusting mine too but it's fine, I did however order the fx shroud for mine wasn't going to, but I did and now I may have to order another or I may just get the Hugget mod anyone know the price on the Hugget mods??
