I just got my .22 Wildcat from AoA and it is sweat! I haven't had time to shoot it yet, as I'm still waiting for my Athlon scope to arrive, but I do have some observations and maybe one concern. I bought the Huggett mod with the Wildcat and it is unbelievably quiet. By far the quietest PCP I've owned. And the trigger is really nice!
My concerns are:
The gun is shooting around 860 with JSB 18's, according to AoA's test, and I might want to turn the HST up at a later date to get the gun shooting around 890. I have read on this forum that others have had issues with the HST being fixed with Loctite and have stripped the screw head trying to break it loose. Any advice? I know heating the screw is the normal way to deal with Loctite.
Also - The HST is already about 3/16's inch in from being flush. I don't want to just crank the HST if the regulator needs to be adjusted first. Can anyone tell me if there gun was set up with the HST in a bit, and if so, did their gun shoot 18's at about the same speed? And - were you able to just turn in the HST to get the gun shooting hotter w/o adjusting the reg.
I might just live with the gun as is. It's still plenty of power, and it is so quiet shooting at 860. I'm hoping to get out to the place I shoot on Friday to get her sighted in and do more chrony testing.
Thanks!
