After a 2 month wait, I received my new FX Streamline and today I put about 70 pellets through it. I tried 2 different weights of JSBs - 15.89g and 18.13g. Rather than explaining the results, most of the info is on the one photo below. I paired the gun with a Leupold 3-9x33 (1" tube) and I really like the combo. Not for long range bench but definitely for hunting at 35 yds or less. I did use it to bench shoot at 140ft and although the 1" group wasn't bad, I think a more powerful scope would have delivered a smaller group. I mounted the scope with Hawke Match medium height rings and the scope tube cleared the top of the mag. by 1mm. Even though the bottom of the adjustment knob group is very low profile compared to some scopes, it wouldn't clear the mag. with these rings so I had to position the scope so the plain tube was over the mag. - which turned out to be a nice position anyway. The gun, scope, and rings weigh 7lb 2oz and the 3 piece stackable moderator added 2oz. The 11 shot mag worked flawlessly. Most of the shots were without the moderator on power level 3 and it seemed to me about as loud as an average springer. With the moderator on, at first I couldn't tell the difference because of the sound of spring and hammer but when I fired randomly with my head about 3ft to the side of the gun, it was backyard quiet, IMO. Probably a 7" Hugget would be quieter but not by much - most of the noise coming from the pellet hitting the target. The FX stackable I got is 3 pieces - one screws on the barrel, one is at the end, and one in the middle. 1 1/16" OD x 3 1/2" length. When I ordered the gun around January 3rd they were being shipped with 2 moderator sections but when I received the gun, no sections were included. I asked the airgun shop to call their distributor (Precision Airgun Dist. in AZ) but they refused, basically take it or leave it. So I called and found out that the inclusion of the 2 sections was a limited promotion of the first 100 guns that went out. It took a bit of back and forth but they agreed to send 3 sections for $35. Considering the extra center section is $25 alone, I was pleased because if I had to pay msrp for 3 sections it would have been in the range of $100. There may still be some synthetic stock Streamlines sitting on shelves that were in the original 100 but any guns being shipped from the distributor now don't have them. One of the photos below shows a group with the moderator on and there was no loss of accuracy at all. As I've read in other posts, the power wheel is very tight. Not so much for power level 1 and 3 but very hard to get into level 2. There is even a note about this in the manual and is said to be tight if the gun is new or has been sitting unused for some time. I took the stock off and rotated the wheel repeatedly and it loosened up some but when the stock is on and only one side of the wheel is exposed, it's still very hard to get into level 2. I plan to take it out of the stock and work it some more. All in all, I'm thrilled with the gun. The accuracy is great, the laminate is beautiful, the weight and balance is just right.

Congratulations on your purchase. That's too bad about the moderator sections not included anymore. Probably need to confirm with AoA if they come without them now. If I didn't buy my Daystate Huntsman Regal, I would have purchased the Streamline with the laminate stock although I'm very satisfied with my Huntsman. Have you tried pushing out your Streamline to 50 yards yet?

It's my understanding that Precision Airgun Dist. is the sole distributor in the US and they are the same company as AoA. I was just out there a week ago visiting friends and the two companies are side by side. I did go out to 140 ft which is only 10 ft. shy of 50 yds. It was on power 3 using 18.13g and it required about 1" holdover when zeroed at 30 yds. The holdover would probably been less with 15.89g but I didn't try that pellet at that distance. The group at 140 ft was 1" and as I said above, that's on 9x power which isn't really high enough magnification for that distance. Most likely the group would have been better with a higher power scope.

From my talk with the distributor, Precision, it sounded like they were the ones running the promotion, not FX. But who knows. I didn't read anything about a promotion during the last few months and the dealer I bought it from didn't have a clue about it being a promotion - he just said the manufacturers change things all the time.

It's very possible since they are the only importer of FX products into the US - so they decide what configurations we all get and they could have just decided to stop ordering the extra moderators to save costs.

Also - thanks for the write up and pictures. I've been debating what rings to get and since you only had 1mm clearance with your medium rings I'm going to try high rings on my 30mm scope which has a 50mm objective.

The OD of the bell of this Leupold scope is 45mm and it clears the barrel by 8mm using the Hawke Match mediums. And BTW, all of the shooting results were with pellets out of the tin - no sorting. Which is kind of amazing because I only had one flyer in about 70 shots. I don't know if that's blind luck or if the gun just isn't pellet picky. I plan to try out some JSB 14.35g and Crosman UM and HP in 14.3g when the weather warms back up.

It's interesting to me that for the Streamlline the laminate option is $200 over the synthetic while in the Royale series it's a $300 option. With the lower base price it was easier to justify the laminate. On a gun that's already heavy, laminate just adds to the weight but with the Streamline, it's so light that I think the extra weight of the laminate is a good thing. Easy choice for me but it did require a two month wait because there are fewer laminate Streamlines arriving than walnut or syn. I'd love to see the sales figures on this gun at the end of the year - I'll bet it's going to be a record setter for FX. It also makes me wonder if this model will cannibalize Royale sales or will result in Royales coming down in price.

"Nueces"Great post. Very informative. Thank you. Probably does not hold for the Streamlines but I don't dare lean my Wildcat upright supported by the barrel. My POI will go off every time. I've learned to baby it as far as how I transport it and store it and it keeps POI now just fine.
I haven't had the gun long enough to notice any POI shifts but I'll keep the advice in mind, thanks!

Regarding the 2 moderator sections and whether they're included or not, I just read Airgun Depot's description of the Streamline and it states "The barrel is fully shrouded and also comes with two FX standard moderator sections." Since the distributor isn't including them anymore this is inaccurate. But if you ordered from AD you might be able to hold their feet to the fire and get them to include them anyway. :^)
