Need to brag on some folks!!

First up is ELIS5173, a forum member here who I must say, makes the best of the three 3D printed speed loaders for the FX Impact mags that I’ve seen so far. Not only an awesome design with its magnetic catch, but slim enough to fit inside my mag carrier on my Impact. The colors he offers are a plus, and a big bonus is the engraving he offers. I get a kick on how I can just toss the top half onto the bottom half and the magnets just snap the two halves right into place! Thanks, Eli’s, for a sweet product-

Next up, is Stuart Waudby’s recent creation for me, an impact bottle and barrel shroud clamp. I drew up the design, he looked it over, just received it, and bingo! No worries of barrel drop, barrel flex, barrel bump, or barrel lean to fears. Solid system, with just enough of looseness, like .1mm, where I can unthread the shroud without removing the clamp to access the liner. Pic rails at either side for mounting whatever goodies I choose.

From design-

Stuart has his own website, SMW Engineering out of the UK. He makes the cool Wildcat clamps that JOEKOOL and I use, and he has a ton more stuff for all types of guns on his site.

Elis, Stuart, just want to say thank you for your patience. I know I’m not the easiest to work with, so a big thanks, really

I wanted to toss this out there, to basically give you an idea of where to pull off dimensions using calipers. I posted this “plan” of mine shortly after I sent the sketches to Stuart, and something he shared with me from fellow 3D’ers that do bottle clamps is, bottle sizes can differ in outside diameter dimensions from maker to maker, even same gun to another. It’s all about the coatings on the exterior of the bottles, I believe. So DO NOT notify Stuart and ask for the same exact thing he built me. You’re going to have to pull your own dimensions. On the bottle I suggest measuring side to side and top to bottom, and take the largest of the two(if any differences). Also, add .1 to .2mm to your barrel shrouds hard meadurement. You wanna make sure it’s a nice smooth slip fit.

Depending on the auxiliary rail that you’ve chosen that’s under the bottle, there may not be enough room for un underside bolt system. At that point, other designs have to be considered. My Impact has the Saber Tactical ARCA rail which had the room.

im assuming only, that SMW engineering will consider putting this in his catalog. I can’t speak for Stuart. He’s a busy guy bombarded with orders and I’m no 3D guy but it’s common sense to me that creating “one of’s“ take time. For all I know Stuart said “done and good bye!!” as he shipped mine of, ha ha!!

Anyway, just thought I’d post this up as a guide. If you can’t contort your calipers into certain gaps it helps to take an overall height dimension(as shown in the E bracket) and subtract the pieces you can measure to come up with the one you can’t measure.

You can also stack feeler gages to get yourself a dimension that calipers won’t.

Thanks for the feedback, all

Stuart of SMW Engineering just added this Impact clamp to his catalog of FX parts, just an FYI. I’ve got two more coming in for a couple of Impacts I’m putting together for friends.

And for you Hatsan Hercules Bully owners that got rid of the bottle cover and wisely went with a shorter scope rail than what came from the factory, I drew up a design like the Impacts clamp to capture both the bottle and the QE shroud. Now you’ll have a solid second point of barrel support where it needs it, and not be tied in to the scope rail.

Thats coming along with the impact clamps, which is shown on the far right in this pic-
