Need suggestions experts am stuck on hawke

What do you use it for? I usually try to buy the shortest and lightest scope that still fills all my requirements.

Will you use a mildot reticle? If so, will you use magnification past the "true mildot" mag of 20x?
To me the 8.5-25x42 only makes sense if you want to be able to use that bit extra magnification to take a peek at your target. Otherwise go with the 6.5-20 for a little less weight and length.

The 8-32x56 is ideal for range finding with your scope at the very high 32x magnification, used for Field Target and/or very precise target shooting. The large 56 mm front bell will capture more light than a 42 mm which will compensate a bit for the image darkening as you crank up the magnification.
This scope will be much heavier than the other two, especially front-heavy because the large front bell hangs out far ahead of the rifle's trigger.

For hunting, plinking and all-around convenience I would choose the 6.5-20x42, for target shooting the 8-32x56.

Bang on what pretbek said. The choice of a scope depends on 3 major things.

1. What distance are you shooting at. - longer ranges typically require higher magnification 
2. What position do you shoot in- handheld shooting, I would pick the lightest scope available which has 3-12x magnification. Benchrest only shooting I would pick one which is heavier and has more magnification. 
3. The size of your target and the conditions you shoot in. I shoot at 150-170 yards and the target size I shoot at is typically 2-3.6 inches. I find a 3-12 magnification scope perfect for this range and this size target. I also like precise shooting so my scope has quarter and half mil dot reticle in it which gives me plenty holdover points for elevation and windage. I can also stretch this scope out to 200 yards. Any further distance or any smaller target size, I would want a scope which has a maximum mag of 20 to 32X. Beyond this I wouldn't need the magnification to be honest. And I don think my airgun could stretch beyond 250 yards. 

I found that the image in the 8-32X56 gets pretty dim and fuzzy above 28X. I think the 6-24X is a better choice. While I still have mine and like it, I also like the Optisan Vipers. The glass is as good or better and I like the reticle for FT shooting.

Second vote for the Vipers. Just mounted my 4-16 50 a few days ago and it is damn nice. The SCB reticle is great. A guy I shot with who has a bunch of Hawkes had never looked through a Viper asked to look through mine and within seconds he said he will have one the next time we shoot.
