Need some low-ish 30mm picatinny rings.

Wife was out shopping recently and I had her pick up a set of 30mm picatinny rings that looked like they had a ~1/2" saddle height.

The good news: they had a very low saddle height, I think about 11mm and fit me and the rifle/scope combo very well.

The bad news: One of the four mounting screws was missing and they were $100... a Leupold product with the thumb screws. I'm taking them back today.

I don't mind paying $100 but was hoping for less than that. Open to suggestions.

Same store had Burris Extreme Tactical rings in stock that appeared to be the same height but they weren't in a resealable package so I had her leave them there. I believe they were in the $50 to $60 range with the thumb screws.

Mail order is fine, of course.

Thank you for any help.

Burris Signature steel Picatinny low rings are extremely low and their optional insert MOA shims enable elevation and windage correction to perfectly optically center your scope at your zero distanve and no scope ring lapping necessary either.

Those are probably going to be too low.

Do the Extreme Tactical rings she saw come with the same inserts?

If the crowds aren't too bad I might just run in & swap for those.

I don't think Burris Extreme tactical rings have the ability to use the Signature inserts so you may have to lap them if you are a scope perfectionist which assuming 90% - 95% of all airgunners are probably not who don't even know the damage they actually do to their scopes when mounting them without proper lapping when needed.

I never knew that people lapped their scope rings. But I can understand why now that you mention it because although I only had it happen one time, I had a old Bushnell scope on a rifle and went to swap it to another gun and noticed a little indentation at the bottom of the scope that went halfway Around the bottom where the ring was in contact. And the rings were high dollar Redfield rings also.Luckily it didn’t seem to hurt the scope, but it all makes sense now.

Find the 30mm Scope Mounting Table attached.... 😊

Over 20 options, with emphasis on adjustable mounts or rails with cant, and low mounting height.

Gives you the aprox. height of each.

And prices.

Made for people with dovetail rail on the gun, but just skip straight to the picatinny part. 👍🏼
