Need Opinions on what is the best Airgun to Buy?

Hi, I am new to the group and have being doing a lot of research on purchasing my first PSP air gun. I wanted to get everyone’s opinion on what air guns are the best.
I have talked to a lot of different people and some have warmed me about the FX air guns and many problems that have happened with a lot of there guns.
I was looking at the FX Impact or The FX Wildcat and also some of the Daystate guns.

I would appreciate everyone’s opinion

Thanks

Patrick

"Best" is a subjective term so a bit of info about how you plan to use the gun would be helpful. Target shooting, plinking, field target competition, hunting, all of the above??????

Budget would be helpful too, although even with an unlimited budget there will be differences of opinion based on personal perference.

FX makes excellent products in general. That said, IMHO owner feedback/reviews suggests that they did have some quality control problems with the new Impact. Those are usually fixed over time, but I don't own one and cannot offer an informed opinion. Even with the Impact's issues, I would not hesitate to buy an FX gun today and am considering the Streamline.

Patrick,
That answer is different for everyone. Even if we knew what the best one was for you, I wouldn't recommend getting it for your first. It leaves you nowhere to go. I've owned LOTS of PCPs over the years and I enjoyed them all for different reasons. When each one left my collection and was replaced, I was able to recognize that whatever issue I was having with the previous one was now gone. If you start at the very top with the very best, you miss out on all the benefits of the journey.
I love my Wildcat just as much as someone else loves their Impact. Both are great rifles.
I'd recommend starting out with something closer to an entry level PCP, like Renegade_626 suggested.

@bfd136 - Nice collection! I've had all of those as well. My Wildcat and Vermy Extreme are among my top shooters.

"pgdune"Hi Tom,
Thanks for your reply..
Maybe I did not explain properly but this is not my first airgun and I'm not new to this hobby. I just feel I'm ready to move up to a better airgun with more power
for target shooting and to thin out the squire population on my property.

Well I wanted the exchangeable caliber of the .25-.30. This will allow people to have a one gun for all purposes. No need to move on to purchasing a second gun like a fx boss or fx royale. It's better to go big the first time so you don't end up wasting money in the long run. It's worth to save the extra 500$. You don't have to drill an atlas bipod railing to the bottom of the stock to add a bipod, you get a higher shot count, you get a cooler looking gun in general, you get unlimited adjustability and a case to go with it. Hey you can buy my wildcat if you want :). I am still waiting for my air tank so it is brand new and unfired. I can give it to you for a discount eheheheh, since you are new to the high end pcp area. Then again the wildcat is easier for hunting, more comfortable, simple, and can reload with one hand/shooting and cheaper. If you don't care about the other calibers then the .25 wildcat is for you.
