this smooth twist X is nothing more than marketing hype.
You can make 5 barrel liners to one barrel. Proof of this is , they weigh 1/5 of what a Smooth Twist barrel weighs.
It will be no more accurate, and perhaps less accurate than a true Smooth Twist BARREL.
I can prove this if FX wants to pay me to do it.

If Im wrong. I will be the next to promote Smooth twistX barrel Liners.
My Challenge to FX is this:
Bring me your best shooter, which is prolly Frederick.
Put both barrels on equal footing BENCHREST at range, from 10 to 100.
I will allow Fred to pick 5 ranges for this test for a total of 25 shots
With me shooting one, and Fredrick shooting the other , outdoors under ambient conditions. With flags.
5 Shot groupings over 5 groups,,,,,,,,just to see who can stack em.

I have a Wildcat .22 with the original Smooth Twist barrel. I'm still experimenting with a Daystate Huntsman Classic .22 (24FPE), and a Beeman R7 .177, and an AirForce Condor .25. So far the Wildcat is the most accurate of the guns that I have at any range beyond 25 yards. At only 25 yards, all my guns shoot one hole groups. At 50 yards, the Wildcat distinguishes itself over the others for accuracy.

If FX ever offers a Smooth Twist X barrel conversion for my Wildcat, I'd be tempted to give it a try. I'd like to compare the two myself. But if they never offer a conversion, I'm well satisfied with the original Smooth Twist barrel. Besides accuracy, I'd have to say the Wildcat gets the nod for "fun factor". Although, the Daystate Huntsman Classic is a gun that you just can't put down. If it had side-lever cocking like the new Daystates that are coming out, it would be hard to say which I like the best, the Huntsman or the Wildcat.

Were I to add another gun to my group, I think either a Wildcat MkII in .25, or an Impact (Smooth Twist X) in .25. I need a magazine fed gun of greater power than my .22 Wildcat. And I'd like to experiment with slugs in either of those two.

No, I'm not an FX "fan boy". FX has had their share of problems, especially with the Impact. But Fred Axelsson seems to me to be the type that's long on walk, and short on talk. I admire that.

I've had one for a year. pellet on pellet accurate. so good its boringly simple! Again, I state, why would you need an x barrel when the smooth twist is ACCURATE beyond belief.
​I'm shooting an Impact 25 now (just because I've graduated to it) and the wild cat will out shoot it! (or me?)

I love mine. Had it for almost 2 years, 5000 to 6000 pellets through her. Yesterday I was shooting all kinds of targets 60 to 80 yards. I tapped bottle caps to the fence at 80 yards and could hit them 3 out of 4 tries. My best run on the caps was 3 in a row, what a blast it was! I believe in the smooth twist barrel, I've been shooting one for almost two years.

Had mine since summer 2016. Still love it. I have yet to pull a single patch through the barrel after 3500 rounds.

One full mag (8 shots) 50yds 18gr JSB.

I've only had my WC .22 for a couple of months but I couldn't be more pleased.

I have the original .22 WC with a Sumo moderator attached. I can only say that it is awesome. I got the .22 for increased shot count over .25, and with a 18.1g JSB it is producing 33 fpe and sub half inch groups at 50 yards. That is a great combination of power and accuracy for hunting squirrels or pest birds.

My Wildcat was the best and most accurate and reliable gun I've owned. Wish I would have kept it. Sold it to get the Impact. After having both, I like the Wildcat better.

Why don't you start the ST vs STX challenge by topping .475 C to C at 100 yards as seen in this thread? Should be easy for you, then once that's done you can win the EBR and use the winnings to confront Fredrik in Sweden.

This is on a .25 though, I see you're talking more .22 but still.
