Tuning Need help with Taipan Veteran

While moving back to my home country, I had emptied the air, and removed the screw next to the fill port, I was trying to remove the manometer, not sure what I was thinking, this was in November. My rifle was stuck in customs, and after a lot of back and forth, I finally was able to get it back. When I took the rifle out of the case, and was looking to put the screw back in, I felt something fall out. On searching the floor, I found a really tiny ball bearing, not sure if it fell from inside the area where the screw is supposed to go to. I have attached images. Can one of you please help me here. Also, the rifle was stored empty for close to 5 months. Will I have to replace any of the o-rings before trying to fill it up again. Thanks in advance.

You would only have to remove Part #78 (2mm screw) and Part# 52 (the tubing that rotates to cover the fill port) to get a wrench onto the manometer. Is that all you did?

The Taipan parts diagram does NOT show a bearing in that area, there's no recess for one to go, and my Taipan VL does NOT have one. Maybe I lost mine and IF I DID it still functions perfectly.

If the manometer removal was to degas there's a much easier way to do it. If you already know that, sorry.

Just gas it up... all it can do is leak and I doubt it will.

I am not sure where the bearing is from, I felt something fall out, and I found the bearing on the floor. Maybe it is totally unrelated, I will try to put the screw back in and gas it up. Thank you for checking if your Taipan had a bearing.

It looks like the bearing from under the cocking lever is what I recognize it as. Not sure how it would have come loose if not disassembled but that’s where I’d look.

I did not disassemble the cocking lever, I don’t think it could have come from there, but I am planning to switch the lever from right to left, I will check then. Would you happen to know where this bearing would go, is there a part number for the bearing that is supposed to be in the cocking mechanism?

I don't own a Taipan Vet, but I wonder if that steel ball goes in the hole and the screw holds it in? The picture you provided looks like there is a seat for the ball to be forced against. You may have to get a bottom tap and clean the stripped threads and maybe replace the grub screw if those threads are damaged. If the threads are damaged enough, you may need to have the fill port body replaced.
