Today I went out trying to test out my new scope and tune job on my rifle, but was surprised by running out of elevation adjustments at only 25 yds.
This is a new scope and the first time it has been on my rifle. I have a Hawke sidewinder 30 6-24×50 using the bkl mounts low profile. Is my scope broken?

no your scope is fine. this happens to lots. remove your scope and shim under your rear scope mount saddle where the scope sits. you won't need lots so just use a soda pop bottle and cut 3/8 wide x 1 1/4 inch or so. lay it in the saddle then put your scope back & cap on and adjust your crosshairs so there level and vertical then tighten down. you may need another thin shim but I would try just one at first. hope this helps

Hi Antj,This is all you need if you buy the Burris Signature Zee rings they will allow you to mount the scope with the turrets in the middle of their range and zero in the scope.
Many guns have what is called barrel droop (like yours) These rings even compensate for side error ( where the mount isn't parallel to the barrel) I couldn't be more satisfied since I installed these rings. They positively will not mark your scope as the inserts are hard plastic. This is a very ingenious design.
BURRIS The part # for 1 inch tube is 626019 The part # for the Ring bushings is 420531
Good Luck LarryB.
