Did you do that or buy the gun used? Not normal. If you want, you can smooth it out, carefully. It will help with power a bit as long as it’s not so big that the pellet binds up.
If that’s brand new, I would contact the retailer you bought it from and exchange it for a new one. I thought maybe you had bought it used. If that was a new gun, somebody swapped a part they had messed with, returned a gun they had tinkered with to get more power or something fishy. Get a new one!
If there is a raised burr in the brass it can easily be dressed with 1000 grit or finer sandpaper. Or if defective from new, could get the barrel repaired under warranty.
Not sure what FX is thinking making a ledge to scrape material off of a projectile . Is it affecting the accuracy at all ? Even if not I would ask for a replacement from the retailer , if the new one comes in the same way , modify it by polishing out the step .
Fx wouldn't want to replace a thousand barrels, now would they. $2000 for a barrel that a pakistani metal worker could make better in a back room machine shop,
