Need help choosing a new scope

I looked at those. Most of them were too long or too heavy. The scope that came on my Gamo is only 12 inches long and the eye relief is about right. The front of the scope is almost touching the swam magazine now. I couldn't push a longer scope any further forward without some kind of high mount. I don't want to do a high mount if I can avoid it.

Thanks for that suggestion. I have pondered that also. I don't know much about them so let me ask 2 questions.
1. How far is a red dot good for?
2. Will a red dot stand up to the recoil of IGT (Inert Gas Technology) gas piston power plant?
