Need help choosing a new scope

New to this forum and this is my first post.

I have somewhat new to airguns. I very recently purchase a Gamo Swarm Fusion gen 2 .22 cal. The scope that came with it as many of you probably know doesn't get very good reviews. So I'm looking of advice for a scope for this air gun. So far from reading reviews and what I will be using this rifle for it seems the UTG 3x9x32 Bug Buster compact would fill my need. The biggest problem I see is how/if I can mount this scope on this rifle.

My primary use is mostly close range varmint control. Mainly squirrels. I live in a wooded area with lost of squirrels. There is a tree on the corner of my back deck and that's were many of the come and go. This distance (from my back door to the tree)is only 25 feet or so. So I need to be able to focus close. I will also be shooting longer distances but rarely over 30-40 yards.

Any advice on mounting the above mentioned scope or advice on a different scope would be greatly appreciated. My budget is open up to 2-3 hundred but don't want to spend more than I need for the job this rifle and scope will be used for. It must hold zero, focus close, adjustable parallax .

Thanks for any help on this.

Yes on the RRR (Recoil Reducing Rail).

2 pieces, over all 6 inches. The mounting piece is 4 inches

Alaskaair... I buy, sell and collect Vintage Rifle scopes, they come in all sizes and types.....I have several Tasco (made in Japan) in the 1980's that are equal to some Leupolds of the same era....I would recommend to you a very nice Tasco Japan. 3-9x38mm 12" L. HI Gloss Black, in A 1 condition, guaranteed and returnable for $100.00 + shipping, $15.00 CONUS -$30 Alaska....contact me at. [email protected] if interested.....

AlaskaAir, The first I've heard the appearing UTG one-piece mount called a RRR.... I've used these on numerous air rifles with excellent results and though it likely does hold and stabilize somewhat better than rings... don't know that I could call it recoil reducing.

As to wondering if it will accommodate a Bug-Buster... I seem to recall I wondered the same at one time and went to the UTG-Leapers website for exact description of their Bug-Buster and the dimensions unfortunately will not allow for their one-piece fitting, 😞 Though I also seem to recall the Bug Buster comes complete with rings, and the UTG rings are fairly stout. Hope this helps.

Thanks all who have responded so far.

Odoyle, I also have a Benjamin model# B1122BTB .22 Cal. I've had that one for several years. It came with one of the centerpoint scopes. This rifle has preformed well for my use. The reason I bought this Gamo Swarm fusion gen2 was the weight. I'm 77 years old. The Benjamin weighs in at a bit over 10 lbs with the scope mounted. The Gamo with scope mounted is 6 pounds 14 ounces. The 3 lbs make it much easier to handle for me. I looked at the Walther Parrus, and it weights 8.8 lbs without the scope. If I'm to shoot something that heavy I just as well stick with my Benjamin as it does a good job. It's just heavier that I like.
