Need Dreamline trigger assistance.

I cant seem to get my second stage to break crisp. Using the back screw, I worked my way in clockwise until the gun wouldn't shoot. Then I put it back to where it was set from the factory and worked my way out counter clockwise until the trigger started feeling weird. Did I miss a sweet spot somewhere where it brakes clean? Figure someone on here might have a method. I like the first stage. Never had to touch that screw. On the bright side I did get to shoot a good many shots while trying to find a good setting.

I assume you left the front screw out enough to have first stage travel. You should find a point in the rear (second stage) screw travel where the trigger returns to its first stage position if you pull to the first stage stop, and then release it without letting off the shot. There should be a small range of adjustment for let off weight before the trigger will not return. Otherwise, not much you can do with this trigger which, from the parts diagram, appears to be the same as in the Royale. You can check the rear screw to be sure the ball is depressing freely with pressure. I suppose there could be some dirt in there which could make it feel "weird", although I don't think I have ever heard of that problem. It is an odd design, but seems to work well within a narrow range of adjustment.

My trigger always returns to the first stage if I am up against the second and decide not to shoot. When I was backing the rear screw out, when I said the trigger got weird, it may have been starting to stick. I will take it to that point again and do a much finer adjustment right on the edge of stickiness. Maybe that’s where the crisp spot lies.

Thanks for responding. The gun is new and I haven’t touched a FX since my original Impact back in 2016 I think. Just a little rusty. The guys on this forum save you guys lots of DM’s I’m sure.

Are the Dreamline triggers different from the Streamline? I'm thinking of getting a Dream pup pending your trigger review. I like the Streamline and Wildcat and Boss and Royale and Bobcat and Verminator triggers. YO!

I have a DreamPup and the trigger is just as good as my FX Impact, version 1. It's fine and I would purchase again.

Shooting this morning. Trigger still too vague in the second stage for my liking. I backed the rear screw out until things got real weird. Tons of travel and then a stop then the gun goes off. The whole time the trigger never got sticky. Always bounces back to the first stage if I don’t fire the shot. I like the gun but would like not to be stuck with a Leshiy trigger.

I decided to shorten my first stage considerably. It is a lot better. I can live with this trigger now. I will look things over in there for excessive oil when I have the gun apart some time. Thanks. The owners manual says both trigger screws must jive and that’s the truth. Big difference. The lawyers may like a long second stage but it’s just as dangerous as a light trigger. Nothing worse than being halfway through a long second stage and deciding not to shoot. Now you have to wonder if you have a bomb.

Not quite sure what is going on with your trigger. With the action removed so you can see from the side, the end of your first stage is when the little ball in the second stage adjuster contacts the receiver. Any additional pressure at that point should release the hammer. If you have noticeable movement after that contact, then the second stage adjuster needs to be moved out, so that the trigger roll can pivot on the sear, closer to its release point. That's why you can't adjust much additional weight in this trigger without creating a lot of creep. It is indeed an odd design. Some triggers work well due to great design. This one works kind of okay in spite of a poor design. Just my opinion, and my wife says I'm always wrong.
