need bipod advice

I have the Atlas Bt46-LW17, it's the PSR model and very nice. It better be for the price! The thing is though it is the last bipod that I'll ever need to buy as it should last a lifetime. The one thing I don't like about my PSR is that when you use it on a light gun (as most airguns are) and try to cant the rifle the fore and aft "limiting bosses" keep enough tension on the bipod to want to push itself upright. I have always wondered if anyone else has experienced this but never cared enough to ask lol. If I had known though I would have saved a few bucks and went with the regular Bt10-LW17. Still love it though, it's rock solid!



Another bipod that gets great reviews in the PB community is the GG&G. They are a bit cheaper than Atlas and Accutac but are supposed to be super rugged and reliable. The compact version looks nice. Only some models allow the legs to lock in the 45 degree position so be aware of that.

The Accutac F-Class style has the widest footprint and therefore is the most stable off the bench by far. FC-5QD not sure if the FClass style comes in non QD?

To be honest if I was going ATLAS on an air rifle I would simply buy a good quality copy at circa $80-100, the only reason I use a real ATLAS is because it was initially for my AR's (which I wouldn't use a copy on).

Accutac FC5 has no copies out ATM as far a I am aware, so it's either take it or leave it!

You are in a quandary because this is an area in which you get what you pay for. If you are concerned about recoil, then Atlas is pretty much the best for that price point and certainly better than less expensive bipods. You can move up to Long Range Accuracy bipods if you want to go to the next level in stability. EuroOptic carries them.
