Need assistance on which QD to use

hi, everyone. I need assistance to those that have installed QD sling mounts on their rifles. I have to admit I am ignorant on these as far as the proper applications for them. The reviews on Midway did not assist me, and what worries me is if any install instructions even come with these. So, here are a few samples, two from Magpul, and the rest from Grovetec. I am planning on installing these on my Hatsan Hercules Bully with a plastic stock, and am probably going to mount the rear mount on the left side, right around the comb area under the adjustable cheek piece. When mounting on the side, I like to go opposite of the rifles bolt, and I am a right handed shooter.

questions on the two Magpul inserts- why is one threaded and the other non threaded?

questions on the grovetec ones- I see some inserts come with threading on the outside, one with threading and a bit of straight, and the ones pictured with the loops have no thread, but it says to just glue them in. Being a plastic stock, common sense tells me I should epoxy them in regardless of which make and how it mounts, correct? Anyway, please advise me on which is the strongest of all installs, and the safest. I would hate to have it pop out with my rifle slung on my shoulder. Thanks, all!

these are the Magpul ones. See how one is threaded and the other isn’t? Are these made to glue and screw in?

And these last ones are also from Grovetec, but I see that the inserts are unthreaded on the outside, and it says on the midway page that these are glue in to wood or plastic stocks. Nothing mentioned of first inserting a screw.

Anyway, these all shown are the ones I’m looking at, and I’d appreciate some feedback based on your experiences with these. Thank you, again

If you zoom in to the rear, and locate the Hatsan adjustable cheek piece, just to the bottom of that, underneath the adjustment button release, and towards the buttpad. So somewhere in between the cheek adjustment button and the buttpad, down low, is where I would like to mount a QD insert. Of course I would check to see if that area is solid or hollow, first.

Check out these QD mounts, they have lots of options. I use one on my Wildcat. Super high quality. I was disappointed with the Magpul look and feel.

Thanks, Gunbros, I did check that link out, but it seemed all the parts were a Mlok or Keymod type of attachment. I do not have a pic rail or any of those mlok/keymod systems at the rear of the rifle, hence is why I’m looking for types to drill into the plastic stock. The one thing though that worries me, is these drill in systems pretty much give you one chance at it, and it’s either going to come out sweet looking and safe, or crappy looking and doubtful

If you have some space on the inside this might work. It uses a retainer clip to hold it with set screws to prevent it from swiveling. You could also mill off the tabs on the backside of one of the rail mounts.

Here's another option for the Pic Rail

Troy Industries Keymod/TROY SDMR QD

I actually like having my gun balanced level with the barrel just slightly tipped down when it hangs freely. Good luck with the search.

GunBros, just wanted to say thank you, for turning me on to this low profile, well designed, slick butt female QD. Yes, of course the toughest part was slipping on that skinny groove lock doo hickey, but all in all, it went well, and now my Hatsan Bully is 100% QD for sling mounts.

Im already planning on putting these in my Marauder rifle, along with some powder burner rifles. Merry Xmas!
