I was hunting public land and there were some controlled burns going on so some areas I wanted to hunt were too smokey.
Found a small stand of Oaks dropping acorns around a couple of Long Leaf Pines. Ideal spot.
Saw two Fox squirrels. One I missed on a straight up shot on walk in other was by the truck on the way out and no pellet in rifle.
4 grays moved in while i sat at the base of a tree. Got this fat one at 20 yards for the first Leshiy Classic squirrel. Others high tailed it.
