NC Airgun Show 2019. Any Reports?

I made it early Saturday. Met joe brancato who was a class act and full of info. The guys from baker Airguns were great to talk too. The lethal air guys let me shoot their impact mk2 30 cal. I got to shoot an az tuned jaeger 30 cal( can’t remember the guys names) but they were great to talk too. This was my first Airgun show, I’ve been to more gun shows then I can count. The Airgun community is different in the best way possible, the guys want to talk, heck most want you to shoot what they have. Everyone I spoke with was very nice to me and my wife. I wish I didn’t have to leave so quick because something came up. This was a really good experience and I will definitely go to more. So I will say thank you to everyone that was there that we talked too, it much better then a regular gun show.

I was there both days, had a great time. Tony and his team do an awesome job every year!

I didn’t end up buying too much. Sold one rifle (Diana 35 in Hy-Score garb) and bought one (70’s-vintage HW 50 with Beeman deluxe stock). Found some nice old pellets, including some classic 5.6 mm “blue tin” Eley Wasps which are about all my old Webley underlevers will shoot, and some “red tin” .177 Wasps which were great all-rounders back in the day.

Lots of great classic stuff on display - Tom Strayhorn brought his famous display of Walther target rifles and accessories, Paul Hudson had two tables full of Haenel rarities, including several pre-war ones. One great feature of this show is the huge shooting area right out the back door - big-bores were booming away all day, and I got to shoot such rarities as a Haenel 311 and a BSA Supersport. And lots of collectors with old guns for sale of course, hanging out with Larry Hannusch, Don Raitzer, David Freeborn, Bob Felton, and others, and learning about the awesome stuff on their tables, is like two days at Olde Airgun U, LOL. The older I get (my Medicare card came yesterday...!!!), the more I appreciate these folks more than the guns.

Among many, many others, vintage guns I saw for sale: Diana model 35M match rifle from the 50’s; gorgeous FWB 150 Tyrolean; FWB 300; boxed Diana 75 T01; Walther LGR; a whole table full of Crosman M1’s and model 160’s; several nice TX 200’s and HW 35’s; a Hammerli Sparkler repeater pistol; I could go on!
