Name some rugged guns

My initial foray into airguns here has led me to the impression that barrels generally aren't very strong. From reading comments, it seems that many rifles will lose zero if they're handled roughly by the barrel. I even saw a post in which an FX Crown had its barrel literally snapped in shipping. I was considering a Steyr Hunting 5, but this concern(and its strange set screw barrel attachment) has made me hold off.

Anyone have any particularly rugged guns?(other than bullpups) And yes, of course the backpackers will present the Leshiy

rainstorm ii has been pretty durable for some people i know who are rough on guns...might check into those!

i have a winchester 70-45, and it is a solid piece of kit, but I think my 909s may, MAY, be a little more durable...the winny is based on an evanix platform very similar to the rainstorm...

I've yet to meet a full size air rifle that you can pick up or otherwise handle by the barrel. If this is your usual routine you will have to train yourself away from it. If you can't or don't want to remove the habit or carrying a gun by it's barrel or scope, airguns may not be for you. Not the vast majority or them anyways.

Kalibrgun cricket buildup, Taipan veteran/ mutant, Edguns, etc. All of these have heavier barrels that are secured at multiple points. I've treated some of mine pretty rough... Never an issue losing zero.

More about wanting to backpack with it and lean it on a tree or whatever and not worry about it

A Rapid may be leaned against a tree and used as a staff grabbing the barrel to get up off the ground and never loose zero, if that's what your looking for.

When everyone mentions the Rapid, does this include the RAW HM1000 guns or just the old Theoben Rapid?

Other than cosmetics both are the same except for the cocking lever, about the only advantages the rapid has is better barrel clamping and the pellet probe is more rigid.

I haven't had any problems with my Daystate Regal XL. I bought it for hunting and 99% of the shooting I do with it is just that. Been carried into the woods dozens of times and leaned against a tree only to slide to the ground several times with no POI change.
