MY PUNCHER BREAKER = PUNCHER BROKEN [HELP]

UPDATE 1:

Pyramid Air [Matthew Z] just e-mailed me back,
letting me know that my issues/questions have been forwarded to their 'technical team' - for better assistance.
[Wait time - up to 2 days] *Starts Timer* 😜

UPDATE 2:

I took another look at the internals - No dismantling - Only through the back of the action..
Using a long T-handle allen, I put some pressure on the rear of the valve..
I gave it a few pushes, and it seemed to move back and forth freely.
I may have over-extended it inward, as it jammed, and sort of tilted just enough
that the pin was off center to the hole/opening - not allowing it to pop back out..
With another push, and tilt from the allen wrench, it re-centered and popped back out just fine..
I couldn't tell if there was any side-to-side movement indicating anything was broken, so,
without tearing into it even more, I think the valve stem 'should' be fine..

If that's the case - process of elimination takes me right back to that random little o-ring..

I've watched Troy's video None of them showed any o-rings..
I've tried Kral's exploded diagram, but so far, no luck there either..

The o-ring inner diameter reads about 4mm

I edited the diagram to make it a bit easier to see things:

1549921895_11099481125c61ee67569f77.64733804_Kral PB Action Exploded Diagram Edit.jpg

Their lettering doesn't match, but, the numbers are the same:
[Here's the breakdown for each of the parts pictured above]

I'm still not seeing the 4mm o-ring [It's more elusive than Bigfoot]

Sam -

[Edit] **I found and looked through the o-rings that came packed with the PB,
but go figure.. They only threw in the most basic ones, and their all way too big.

Valve-Stem Replacements / Upgrades:

Pyramid Air - Still Out Of Stock
[3 months - probably longer - and counting]

Annihilator - Troy's site doesn't show them

Jefferson - Still Out Of Stock
[I about fell over seeing the price for these things too]

Does anyone have any other sources for them?
I've been looking on/off for 3+ months now..
Before I even ordered my Puncher Broken, er', I mean Breaker.

😜

Sam -

Sam I did some more research and have come to the conclusion that when my gun breaks down I'll buy a complete kit . Measure each one then take the gun apart & do the same thing. Crosman doe's a great job on the marauder diagram & parts list plus they give all the o-ring size's to bad the other companies can't follow suite . This in itself will determine who will get my next sale This was an eye opener for me (poor diagram-parts lists-availability & so on) . I find it hard to believe that no one has a list of these o-ring sizes for all the break downs & I'll bet when you buy one of there kits the sizes won't be listed either. Still researching Darell

Darell,

Right on man. Before I got this PB, I did a LOT of looking around.. I read countless pros / cons, watched a bunch of videos,
read reviews, etc. For all of the people complaining of issues - There were 2 x that saying how simple the 'fix' was,
and how easy it was to obtain the parts.. I even looked around for parts.. No, nothing was broken down, but,
at least things were available.. A month or so later, I got my PB. It was killer. No issues at all..
That said, I dropped the ball and didn't jump on anything to do rebuilds / upgrades / etc.
Fast forward a few months til' now, and the same Needed parts that were all out of stock then are Still out of stock now..
That's ridiculous.. People/Places continue to sell these rifles, but, no one seems to offer any support for them anymore..
That really doesn't make any sense. Kral doesn't respond to e-mails, so maybe suppliers are at there mercy also.. Who knows..

I was so happy with the performance of this gun that I even imported one of Kral's Nemesis rifles in the .22 / .25 kit..
Maybe I should just punch myself in the face now, and get it over with..

Literally less than an hour before my PB bit the dust,
I ordered a new Discovery 6-24x50 scope, anti-cant level-ring, and set of FX No Limits rings for it..
That combo worked so nicely on my other rifle I figured I'd 'go without' elsewhere, and splurge on something nice..
Yeeeaaah...
*sigh*

Erlis,

I didn't even think to pester Donny! Thanks for the great suggestion!
Between Donny and his machinist I'm sure they could come up with something..
I just know that he's extremely busy, and, he'd most likely need an OEM part to work off from..
I sent him my Nova Freedom OEM end-cap so that he could get the suppressor adapters made..
The same would probably go for doing a valve stem.. I wish I had a god one now - Just for that reason.

Thanks a bunch for the idea!
If I don't hear any good word back from Pyramid Air or Troy, I'll run it by Donny for sure!

🙂👍

Lee, Jeff, and John,

Thank you all for the info and advise!

Yup, I've been fully aware of the issues surrounding Krals valve stems for a long time..
That's why I was hoping I'd already have a spare [upgraded version] so I could just repair the thing 'now'.
No one that was offering them seems to have them listed or in stock anymore..

I've talked to Troy a few times about other things, and the last time we touched base was probably a month ago..
I shot an e-mail his way yesterday - Just in case..

UPDATE 4:

I just received an e-mail back from Pyramid Air..
Stacey H. has let me know that they [Air Venturi] can warranty this issue!
I am most definitely relieved now - Since I'll be able to get my PB back in action sooner than later.
For now, I'm just going to be sending it in to have them service it. Also,
I'll be trying my best to get my paws on an extra oem valve from them - If they'll sell me one.
That way, at least I'd have something on hand that could be used in the future..
Either as a part to go by to make a better one, or, just as a replacement if/when the new one goes. lol

I'll be sure to keep everyone in the loop and up to date as this whole process continues..

Thank you again to all of you for the advise, info, and suggestions!

🤘🙂🤘

Well, I'm single, I don't have any kids, and all I can say is that...
Dropping my Puncher Breaker off at the post office to ship out for repairs
was probably what a parent feels when sending their kid off to school or summer-camp.. hahaha

Seriously though.. Last night, I was already feeling the anxiety kicking in..
I'm not wired right, and use daily shooting as an escape [therapy] and my other rifles just don't cut it..
Yeah, they're great, but, I was already missing my little bullpup. That said,
I figured I'd keep giving up on food, driving, etc, spend that money elsewhere,
and give in to the urge to be a spontaneous impulse buyer..
Yes guys, I have a problem..

Krale was so good the last time I ordered from them that I had no choice but to place another order..
I figured that instead of getting another Puncher Breaker, I'd finally give an Artemis P15 a whirl..
Sooo, I pulled the trigger on one. And a few extra mags.

But wait . . . There's more!

While I was on the site, I spotted an Artemis PP700S-A [.22 cal pistol] and then an accessory folding-stock..
Damn it... *click*... [add to cart] *click*... [add to cart]

*Check my bank account / life savings* - Yup, just enough left in there to cover things + shipping..
Perfect.. Back to being broke as a joke - But semi-content again..

C'mon UPS!! The next few days are going to be d-r-a-g-g-i-n-g . . .

Alright . . . I'd better get back to work, and try to distract my crazy mind.

😜👍

I wish I had an actual 'Update' - Especially with good news..
Nope.. Just some e-mail tag back and forth with Pyramid Air..
I guess on a positive note, they 'should have' set aside a spare valve-stem for me.
That way, if/when this issue happens again and the gun is out of warranty, I can fix it Quickly.

Anyways, in the time being, I'm still having a blast plinking away with my new P15 and PP700

I broke out the P15 again tonight, and tested out some different ammo..
Indoors, I usually just shoot Crosman Premier 14 grain pellets since they're cheap and effective..
This time around, I threw some H&N Baracuda 21 grain pellets down range..
I filmed it since others have been curious about different ammo, weights, speeds, etc.

10-ish minutes of real time shooting - voice chrono speed readings - chrono print out at the end.

UPDATE 5:

Yesterday, I received an e-mail from Air Venturi.
It contained a few important things. I'm excited and happy about both of them.

1 - A USPS Tracking #. Apparently the PB repair is all set and it's shipping back to me now.
*According to the tracking info: Scheduled delivery is listed for tomorrow [Thrs 02/28/2K19]

2 - This one is regarding the spare parts that I inquired about initially..
*I'm going to hold off on this for now, but, I'll elaborate later! [As soon as the package arrives]

I've learned not to get my hopes up and speak prematurely, but,
IF all goes well, and I understand the e-mail correctly - I'll have a great surprise and great news.

🙂👍

UPDATE 6: [The Final Update]

1551385772_20915214165c7844ac3c2221.70732245_20190228_145553.jpg

I am extremely excited and happy to say that Pyramid Air / Air Venturi did an Outstanding job!
[They even 2-day shipped everything back to me - Just like I had shipped things to them]

On top of getting my Puncher Breaker repaired [with upgraded parts] and back in action,
*And this elaborates on "2" mentioned in the previous post...

They threw in an extra upgraded replacement valve-stem For Free!

1551386092_18827798185c7845eca2cd42.62961198_20190228_150404.jpg

I had inquired about getting a spare - in case I would ever have to do the repair again - outside of warranty.
When I saw 'quantity 2' and '$0.00' in the e-mail, I assumed it was a mistype, but hoped for the best..

1551386154_16927954265c78462a424676.41632413_20190228_150648.jpg

Well, the spare was most definitely included..
PA / AV definitely went above and beyond! Sometimes, it's just the little things that make a Big difference..

Kudos to everyone involved! Very Well Done!

I'm not sure if I'll have to adjust/re-adjust anything, but as-is, things appear to be 100%
They filled the air-tank to about 175 bar, so I was able to squeeze off a dry test-fire.. Awesome!
I knew that I probably should have brought a hand full of pellets into work with me!

👍👍👍👍

Sam -

Finally - The Moment Of Truth:

I un-boxed the PB, removed the shroud and installed its suppressor,
then threw on the bipod, scope, and slid in a single-shot-tray..

Ohhh Yeeaah!

1551405092_9133154925c7890243d2385.37009981_20190228_200739.jpg

Ready For Action!

1551405143_17681527895c789057843095.09822476_20190228_200641.jpg

Usually, I'd just send some Crosman Premier 14.3's down range, but nope..
I had a few handfuls of H&N Baracuda 21.14's sitting on the bench, so I went with them instead.
I used the center and bottom/center dots to do a quick re-sight-in, and then let the other dots have it..

You'll also spot a few random looking hits between the top and center and center and right dots..
Well, those aren't random at all.. On these targets, that's where the tiny #'s are.. 7's, 8's, and 9's..
Not anymore! This thing is right back to being a tack-driver!

1551405407_17084426375c78915f0c2c13.93027007_20190228_200851.jpg

^^^ That was using the 175ish Bar worth of pressure that PA / AV left in there..
When those shots were taken, I remembered to look again, and the PSI was right around 100 Bar.

Not Bad..

*Super Stoked*

🙂👍

This morning, I did a bit of shooting before work..

I burned through the H&N Baracuda tin that I'd been using, and wanted to stay with that same weight,
so I grabbed a tin of H&N Baracuda *Match* pellets this time around.. Same [21.14 grain] weight:

Wow! I didn't think I would see such a different, but, I did..
While they shot just as well as I assumed they would, they were noticeably more consistent!

I circled the target, and shot the 'centers' of each of the dots, and then concentrated on a single dot's center..
Over and over and over, I must have put 15-20 pellets through the same hole!
Usually, I expect a jagged / ovalized hole, but nope.. Perfection!

As of right now, I have a new favorite pellet for this gun!

👍👍
