As my 'luck' would have it, my favorite air rifle just s**t the bed.. *sigh*

I was shooting, when a pull of the trigger cause what sounded like a fully automatic - wet fart.. 🤣
That obviously caught me off guard, so I re-cocked the gun, and tried to fire it again..
Same deal.. I've heard the horror stories about broken valve-stems, so I assumed that was it.
**There was no noise that would indicate a metal part failing/snapping though**
That said, I'm hoping for a better case scenario..

Depressurizing was a breeze, I just held down the trigger, and all the air rapidly escaped..
After a few seconds, the air-tank was completely degassed, and the gauge read zero.

With things safe to work on, I figured I'd start tearing into the action to inspect things..
Before I could even remove the internals, I noticed that there was a small o-ring out of place..
It appeared to be smushed against the retaining set-screw, and it didn't look very healthy.
[The o-ring ended up being chopped in 1/2, so now it's just a rubber-U]

I removed the set screw, marked / removed the rear adjuster, spring, and hammer cylinder..

I stopped there, since I haven't torn down this rifle before..
At this point, I'm questioning whether the o-ring could have been the issue?
I'm clueless at this point, so I wanted to ask first..

I have no idea where that o-ring came from, so hopefully someone does, and,
*fingers crossed* that Kral included a spare somewhere in the box..

Also - If I do end up needing any new replacement/upgraded parts,
could someone direct me to a good source who'd respond asap and have them in stock?

I'd Really like to repair this and get it back in action as soon as I can!

Thanks in advance!

John,

Yeah, 'pressure dumping' is exactly what it did..
Where normally, you pull the trigger, the valve is opened/closed quickly and a small burst or air is released..
When I pulled the trigger, it seemed that the valve would just stay opened, or open/close with extreme speed..
As long as the trigger was pulled, the air would dump out of the gun [through the barrel]

PA - Thank you for the suggestion!

PA is where I ordered mine from on Dec 8, 2018

I shot an e-mail their way describing the issue, and asking for their advise / info / etc
They list a "1-year limited warranty", but, I'm not sure that this could be covered.. I asked about that also.

Parts wise, unfortunately, they don't seem to stock very much.
I was going to order a replacement cocking-lever when I ordered the rifle, but, they were pre-order only..
A few other parts that they had listed are no longer available now either, so yet again, just my 'luck'..

*Fingers Crossed*

Nice neat organized work area you got setup, thats key imo...

Just keep on taking it apart, you'll find whats wrong soon. Just keep going in a neat orderly fashion, being gentle, not forcing anything, just like you're doing so far. Take pics so reassembly won't be a problem.

Or send it in as its probably still under warranty..?

Hi DD,Have u gone to the Kral site, might be able to download a schematic of your puncher and a parts list.

HeyU,

Thanks for the suggestion!

I actually have a PDF and a hard-copy of the Kral Arms PB owners-manual [The same as what they have on their site]

I've tried to contact Kral directly in the past [trying to purchase their other accessories] but unfortunately, they don't respond..
2+ months and still waiting for a reply since the last e-mail I sent then. haha

=)

**The diagram I've been using - Trying to figure out where that mystery-o'ring came from:

acs,

Thanks a bunch for your thoughts, advise, and video!

Yeah, 90% of what I do is from being 'self-taught', and OCD er', I mean... Organizational Skills is one important thing I learned along the way..
I try my best to keep things in order, and yes . . . Lots of pics or video of things as they come apart. That's a must for me, as I have a bad memory.

I contacted Pyramid Air last night / this morning - I haven't slept yet..
Just waiting to hear back from them, so I'll know how to proceed..

It'd be Great if something like this falls under their [or Kral's] warranty, so *fingers crossed*

=)

DD Crap ! is all I have to say & I'm sorry for you to have to go thru this . I also bought a 22 cal. pb at Christmas time on sale $379 . How many rounds have you got thru that thing ? I just love mine & it's very accurate . The past couple days I have been looking for a diagram (a good one) the only one I found was on the kral site . Just wish they were like the ones crosman puts out . My intension was to buy some spare O-rings & parts for pre. maint. Does anyone have a list of O-rings & sizes ? please list I'll give you a + for sure because I was just about to do this in a post ! As far as PA everything that is listed is OUT OF STOCK ! . what does that tell you . From what I recall JS airguns had a o-ring set . I'll keep doing research for ya because I also want some spare parts on hand . Keep us posted what you find out & I believe I seen somewhere it has a one year warn. Best of luck Darell

Darell,

Thanks a bunch! I swear, If I didn't have Bad 'luck', I wouldn't have any 'luck' at all.
Right on, that's a great deal you got on your PB! I absolutely love these rifles, and of the handful I have,
even though it's one of the cheapest, it is definitely my favorite! Which is why this really bums me out!

Rounds - Ohhh... just a few...

1 tin of JSB 15.89 gr / 500 count
2 tins of JSB 18.13 gr / 250 count [1,000]
3 tins of Crosman Premiere 14.3 gr / 500 count [1,500]

And, I started in on a tin of H&N 21.14 gr / 200 count

So, the shot count is right up there with some of the other rifles that fell victim to failed internals..
With my bad luck - That's what I was actually expecting. So if this is just an o-ring issue, that'd be Great!

I usually keep checking sites - looking for replacement parts - just to be safe..
That's why I'm a bit bummed that none of them seem to be easy to get in touch with, or, items out of stock..

An o-ring diagram would be awesome! I was also trying to figure that one out too..
My auto accounts/suppliers used to have o-rings priced at like $0.02 cents to $0.10 cents a piece..
That said, a full o-ring kit 'should' be super cheap.

It'll take someone with a set of calipers, a full kit, some time on their hands, etc. to put the info together..
O-ring size / type - hard / soft. Even sites like Fastenal / McMaster-Carr will carry them in bulk.

Thank you very much for keeping an eye out also! And I'll be doing the same!
If/when I run across any helpful / related info, I'll be sure to post it on here, and, probably PM you too.

As for warranty - Yup, PA lists a "1-year limited warranty", but no clue what that entails - yet..
They've been e-mailed, I'm just waiting for a response.

=)
