My own Cricket .25

Oh yes , I forget one point : I have a .22 and a .25 Cricket , a .25 carbine . The only one missing is…..the mini-carbine😉. But one of these days , I know I'll put an order for this very pretty gun. Moreover I like the semi bullpup design , but in the case of the mini carbine I prefer the plain stock model , without adjustable cheek-rest. Just a aestethic point of view ; not sure if it's still available.

Nice looking machine there

There are some différences : the stock , of course. The carbine barrel is 615mm long , no shroud but a factory installed silencer .The cricket barrel is 600mm long and shrouded . Otherwise same power , same action….and same accuracy.

.

The action on the carbine is easier to load /cock the gun ; a plus for benchrest shooting.

So could you restock a cricket with a carbine stock and make a carbine ?

If Charlie of Georgia Airguns set it up, and it's still that way. Be very happy.......

I like Crickets a bit myself. I may be Kalibrgun stupid, but Congratulations on a gun I believe in.

Oh, one thing about QUITE Crickets. A Stock .25 cal. is WAY to loud for me. Bottom gun, same as yours 25.4 gr. at 950 FPS. and it's very quite.

Suppressed is a good thing for me.

My .25 Cricket at 940 fps is LOUD. NO WAY back yard friendly. But I guess it all depends on your neighborhood. I once lived where I could shoot a pcp without a moderator on it. the neighbors did not care. I put a moderator on a BSA R10 .177 that does 940 pfs with the JSB 10.34, and a neighbor heard it. He asked, are you shooting a pellet gun?

I would love to quiet down my Cricket to a respectable level.

Maybe ask Ernest Rowe how to reduce the noise. I know that he modified some Donnyfl moderators to improve their performance. One trick he did , and I did the same with some results,is to drill a row of 6-8 tiny holes (1,5mm diameter) in the bottom of the shroud, at the opposite of the exit hole.He also put some high density foam inside the moderator, instead of felt. I think there is a lot of experiments to do around moderators ; some work, others don't. Just a trial and error job.

I wouldn't drill holes in the moderator personally. I can hear them hiss. Just more noise to my hearing.

I recently made a custom moderator for a 75 FPE .25 cal. Cricket that is only about as loud as a stock .25 Cricket.

I put a simple LDC on it that made it pretty good. So I'll make a good one for it when time allows.

I also have a .30 cal. 75 FPE Cricket that is so loud I just don't like to shoot it. Poor moderator/LDC design. I put my stock .25 cal. barrel and moderator on it one day. It was so quite at 64 FPE I almost forgot which gun I was shooting.

The right design LDC will make a 52 FPE .25 cal. Cricket very back yard friendly. Until impact that is.

No.

I've been after a Cricket bullpup/compact for yeeeaaars..
My Mini Carbine popped up in the classifieds here for sale, and my 1st thought was to get it, and swap stocks..
Obviously, a few other things would have to be changed too - again - I assumed..

I love these rifles, so, I grabbed it anyways.

Then I spoke with CenterCut - Since he's a wealth of knowledge when it comes to these..
He explained the differences between the two versions: different actions, bbl / rail setups, etc.
So unfortunately, nope.. it can't be done. [Or at least not w/o a bunch of extensive modifications]

🙂

She is home, she is pretty and shoots like a dream. Did a first round of shooting to sight the scope and see what she can do. I was able to do 97 yards shots with the small magnification scope no issues. I love that baby. I made a 48 shots string with what look like 10-15% of air left in the green. I haven't chrono it yet. But I'll let you guys know.

I'll post some more soon
