Just unboxed my new Streamline 25 in the parking lot of the UPS facility to find this. I'm sure Utah Airguns will take care of me. ?

You know, your post got me thinking. At first I thought "I'm screwed for tonight and tomorrow at the farm, who cares if there's any other damage, I'm sending it back".
Then I thought if there's no other damage, I can just swap the synthetic stock from my 22 for now and still have the 25 until I get a replacement stock! I guess that'll be up to UA as to how they want to handle it.
I'm two hours ahead of them so I'm just waiting to hear back on an email I sent.

So sorry for your troubles. UPS claims are a real pain in the arse. What boggles me is the force that it would take to break a laminated plywood stock? They build airplane wing spars out of laminated plywood. It's stronger. Either that or the stock manufacturer is using inferior plies to make their plywood.
I don't know if it's still there or not, but AoA had a used Streamline for sale that had a broken stock too. I believe it too was laminate. It was broke in the same place too. It really makes me wonder what kind of crap they're using to make these laminates. Ordinarily one would expect a plywood laminate stock to be nearly unbreakable compared to solid walnut.
Again, so sorry for this inconvenience. I hope UPS makes satisfaction for you.

Sorry to hear about the damage. Stuff happens. With that being said I'd consider trying to pin it with maybe a threaded insert and you'd have yourself a take-down Streamline. Maybe the world's first ☺
If it were me I'd rather fab it into something than see it trashed. See if Utah will send you a new stock AND let you keep the broken one.

Bob_O I feel for you, Never understood why they would send something like that in just a cardboard box. Manufactures need to up their game in packaging on all of them.

Bob, that sucks! I had the same thing happen to me, but it was synthetic and came through USPS. I bought it used and luckily the owner shipped it with insurance. They filed a claim and a new replacement stock came to me. While waiting I epoxied and pinned the broken one back together and have been using it ever since. The new one is still sitting in the shipping box. I have put about 2000 pellets through it at the dairy with the old stock. No tears when I bang it against the fence or headlocks!

no way I would ever keep that rifle.. I would demand a complete replacement. The force it took to break that stock had to be a lot...

We file claims all the time with Fedex. They pay us "our cost" for damaged items.. So, Utah should have insurance and provide / ship you a brand new rifle.. hope you get it solved quickly and efficiently..

Seems to be a weak spot with streamlines as AOA has had several with broken wrists on their site. Sorry to hear about your bad luck Bob.

It's not just the Streamlines. This is the weakest part of rifle stocks. It does take a LOT of force to break one, especially laminate, but if they're going to beak, it will be in this spot. The break is generally horizontal a well just like the above pic.
Sorry for your troubles. I would not touch it until you hear back from Utah Airguns/UPS. It sucks but, sometimes that's just the way the system has to work. I've been down this road before. It's tedious.

If you look at the grain in the laminate layers it seems to be moving in the same direction. This means the laminate was stacked for looks, not strength. AA did this with their EV2 laminate stocks, looks over function which lead to a systemic breakage issue at the wrist. This problem won't go away until the laminates is layered in opposing directions. Until then good luck.

I got an Edgun on the way from West coast to East coast. It left Anaheim Monday. Can only pray it makes it safely?

I'm sorry to see this,Bob. Hope everything works out well! This is exactly why I was hesitant and sweating bullets when I sent my Diana 75 out for a rebuild. Thankfully, it worked out well...This time.

If possible, sometime, you should go into the receiving/shipping area of either UPS, FEDEX or most any other company. It will scare you to death. When I was still working, I got escorted into a BIG room, warehouse size, while an employee searched for a lost package. There was a huge pile of packages, I mean 6 or 7 feet tall, like they had been dropped out of a dump truck. He started grabbing boxes, looking at the label, then tossing it several feet into another pile. Finally found mine, wedged between to larger boxes. "Handle with care" it is NOT!

Where do baggage handles go when they get laid off? UPS.. or vise versa..
even with the layers of wood in the same direction with glue.. that rifle took a hit.. could have been a heavy package fell when a truck made a turn and impacted perfectly.. no way would I accept that rifle.. you paid for defect free, factory new.. you deserve what you paid for.
I was looking for a Streamline and one website said " starting at $899" I looked closer and it was a refurbished model.. didn't appreciate the bait and switch.. refurbished models need to be in a separate area.. IMO.
anyway, hope u get it resolved, you got critters to kill..
