My new " old " 700mm impact barrel

Like the title says I bought a standard ST 700mm barrel fo replace my old .25 barrel that couldn't group for nothin.

alright so I've done a little tuning ttrying to figure the best speed and all that good stuff for the 34 grainers. And so far it a hell of a lot better than my old barrel. I'm getting less than half inch groups ar fifty no problem. Haven't got to shoot further yet winds are in the 20s today.

So before with the 600mm barrel I had the gun set to 130 bar and was shooting about 840 and power 3 and I have the valve on 3 also. Posted good 50 yard groups but had a very erratic spiral past that and I just couldn't fix it..

Now with the 700mm barrel on the same settings the velocity was 910fps! That seems like a hell of a lot to me! But hey I'm not complaining. Accuracy off course was horrible with that tune.

so yesterday iset off to dial it in. Ran it over the chrony and seen it was way hot and started the tuning process.

I started by lowering the reg until I got where I thought was good. Now I have the gun set at 105 bar power on 3 valve still on 3 and its shooting 860fps very accurate! I'm pretty excited to see if the shot count goes up and to actually shoot a full shot string. So far I've only shot about 40 over the chrony. (High-865. Low-855)
when I have time to shoot some groups and what not I'll post the pics.

I'm not the the smartest when it comes to tuning so I'm not sure there is still things to change

Thats where my impact likes 34g. I just installed xtwist 700. Really tighten up group from standard twist 600mm. I`ve been running 135. On reg. You dont have any trouble getting 860 @105 bar? That should increase your shot count. I believe ill try it.
shot most of day (250 pellets) in a heck of a wind. Steady 12mph w/gusts of over 20. With a little hold over i was hitting pellet tins @ 110 yds consistently. Had to wait out the hard blows but the 700mm firing 34g @865 powered thru the steady blows.

It is disappointing to get a $2000 air rifle that isn't accurate. I feel your frustration. I questioned my purchase to the point I thought about selling it. The first thing I had to realize, I can't shoot like Matt and Ted! Owning a Wildcat is like owning a Lexus. Man a great car and just get in it and drive. An Impact is like an Indy car. It has to be checked mechanically and tuned for every track condition. Constantly monitored and tweaked This took me several months to realize and learn. Watch Ted , Matt, and Esting Rowe. The education will greatly reduce the learning curve.

My Wildcat 22 is pellet on pellet @ 25yds, 1/2" @50, and 2" or so @ 100yds. Virtually no flyers @880 fps. 25g. But, the wind is a killer on 22's.

Now dealing with Impact. First loosen the shroud and reseat your barrel, the barrel should seat in the breach and you should be able to catch a finger nail on it sticking thru.
Clean the barrel, I thought mine was clean until I stuck a bore scope down the tube (I'm a safe tech so I have such things) and could not believe how dirty it was. this improved my accuracy 50%. Esting shows you how to tune your power. mine likes 130 on reg. level 4. 855-870 for 34g pellet. I haven't had time to shoot the 24g. (cheaper to shoot)
EVERY RIFLE IS DIFFERENT.

the new twist x 700mm (it is long!) took me to pellet on pellet @50, 1 1/2 @100 ( I atribute that to my shooting, it will get better) with pellet on pellet not unusual. I've only been shooting it since Tuesday. No flyers, that sure is a change. So Windy i can't really get a true accuracy check. maybe tomorrow. .

Hope I helped.

"mrdirect"My .25 Smooth Twist (not X), is also terrible ! Even on MIN power I have huge groups at 50 meters. I do not have camera mount, so I can't look for spiral in slow motion, but it has to be. Have you given up on the .25 old barrel, or will you keep looking for a setting that does work? My Wildcat .25 shoots great at 899 FPS , but my impact just sucks.....
what the setting your shooting at on the impact?

Mine did not group well either it had a bad barrel , I sent it back and got a different brand here was dropbox , of the pellets wobbling, I did shoot some good groups , but many groups had fliers and it was not ammo it was if I timed the wobble to hit the target , I agree with the impact is not just a buy and shoot gun here is pics of targets and clips of pellets in flight to see bad barrel , it had tiny stress cracks at twisted end and barrel
