My New FX Wildcat MKII

Well I finally got the last gun on my list. The FX Wildcat.

Here she is.

Tuned it down as far as it will go and she's shooting at 691 FPS with .22 cal. 14.35 JSB pellets. I know WHY?
I wanted a gun that would shoot at about 15 FPE. for around the house.
I could just replace some parts to make it into a UK 12 FPE. gun but I didn't want to go that low on the power scale.

Anyone know why the Airtube has a big hole in it? I assume it's the breather for the reg. But why so big?

I wonder if this is because of the new A.M.P. Regulator?

In any case this thing so far is a laser! Pellet on pellet no problem!

I just ordered a ton of pellets for this gun. I know I'm going to be using it a lot!

Would love to see some groups @15fpe.

I've had challenges with the older ST barrels at lower speeds, maybe they cracked the code with the MKII? If so, that would rock - and put the .22 WC MK2 high on my list of what's next. Already a quiet gun, at 15 fpe must be very friendly.

On your original question - that hole looks HUGE. Can that be right? If it's supposed to be there the machining looks pretty rough.

Yep, It looks like an untreated drill hole...lol...

I Was thinking the same thing? Maybe this wildcat originally came with the older reg, and they modified it?
Doesn't seem like it was built this way. More like an after thought?
But the gun shoots Great! It's a Tack Driver! Possibly better than the Impact "X" that I have.

Is there an Allen head in that hole?

You Supposed to be able to adjust the reg externally and that should be it....

But your right it looks kinda rough!

James from Michigan,

No doesn't seem like there is a way to adjust anything? I was hoping that I could turn down the reg that way.
I sent pictures to Ernest to ask if this was something new? Hopefully he can confirm if this is right.

For the Wildcat MKIIs, initially the air cylinders had two holes drilled for access for the AMP regulator. It was a production thing initially to get the rolling developments of the AMP in place with existing parts instead of waiting for those to run out. It's a threading line up issue, doesn't effect anything, just take off the stock and you'll see the exact same size hole on the other end of the cylinder where you can adjust your AMP reg down. Remember to pull the trigger every half turn and get it on a chrony since there's no manometer on the Wildcat for the regulator. It will shoot like a dream for you, no doubt!
