My new Daystate Red Wolf ROSSO Series (#119 of 200) CHECK THIS OUT!!

Sorry to see your broken stock. As there seems to be no replacement stock I would send back the rifle and ask for a replacement or get a refund. Then just buy a standard Redwolf. I think Spray1Mark may be on to something about the thickness of the wrist of the stock. I have heard of 2 others that had broken Redwolf stocks. I have one on order and am going to make the UPS driver stand there and watch me open up the box and inspect the rifle for any damage.

Hope you can get what you paid for. Please keep us apprised of the outcome.

Have these incidents been the Rosso limited editions or other models as well? All the standard models are shipped in a padded cardboard box. I would think those would be more susceptible to breakage. Haven't heard of any walnut or grey/red stocks being broke on here yet? As for Daystate, if I was putting a hollow piece of laminated wood into a foam padded hard case like the Rosso is shipped the farthest thing from my mind would be a broken stock. I still don't believe just IMO this is due to normal shipping and handling or we would see more issues with other items. Just the doubting cynical person in me.

Valid points above, there are still a few for sale at dealers in England. If Daystate were really that bothered they could in theory buy back unsold units from the dealers and use them as replacements in incidents like this.

The ROSSO is marketed as a "Special Edition" so Daystate could in my understanding produce more, whereas with a "Limited Edition" they could not in theory make more. By law (In the UK) spare parts must be availible for 5 years after manufacture, not sure if spare parts includes major components though.

There is no shortage of the walnut or laminated non special edition stocks of course, because Minelli is manufacturing on a repeat batch basis which makes a broken ROSSO stock even more annoying!

OK SO THE PLOT REALLY THICKENS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went into a dealer today in the South of England and guess what? a ROSSO with a broken stock in EXACTLY the same place!

If you look at the stock where the break is, the material removed to take the battery is quite extreme! perhaps this is a generic fault with the stock and not the fault of the courier!

. Perhaps the gun has unforeseen stock defects. Daystate usually has really great quality control but I can see how they missed something like this due to the low number in production.

The stock is actually made by: http://outdoor.minelligroup.com/minelli_outdoor_group/

It could be possible to contact them to see what you can do and if they can repair it.

I was thinking theoretically you(or whoever is the most unfortunate to be left with ownership of the gun) can glue the two pieces back together using clear epoxy. The epoxy I saw can withstand up to 2000 psi on some of them and I'm sure there are more custom application ones that can be placed on order. And wood that splits like that can be put back together without even noticing. Just a food for thought.

First thing is first I would recommend getting a new stock and if the stock is not SE, then asking for a refund. And also contacting minelli group in Italy.

Just wanted to mention. Daystate should have made a fitted foam case for this $3000 gun. Instead they sent it in a crappy basic padded case that allowed lots of movement and no protection at all. I'm soooo mad at Daystate right now!!! What a bone head move on their part. ....sorry, I just had to "vent " that. -Nate

Good point. Even the impact comes with cut to fit slots in their case. I don't understand why daystate went with a generic padded case when the gun is 2950$. Really bad decision when the competitor is doing similar and better for less. I am still a firm believer in daystate quality though. Maybe in the "Artic Wolf" series. :)

My dealer is trying to track down a Rosso stock. He said Daystate is working on it. I sure hope so. I will probably try and return it if it doesn't work out. Really if it's not a LE edition then what's the point? I would not have purchased a regular red wolf. I'm crossing my fingers.

Out of interest, why would you not have bought the regular one? They both shoot the same. Some prefer the look of the regular too, along with the obvious cost benefit.

Not saying you shouldn't be mad or send it back. I'd be extremely pissed. Just wondering why the LE or nothing? Investment thing?

Macros, I bought the LE edition because it was valuable. I figured I could shoot a nice gun (carefully) and as long as I didn't drop it, I could sell if for $3000-$5000 in a few years. The Red Wolf may be a great gun, but I would not spend $2500 on a regular one...I only bought it because I was getting 1 of 200. I have many guns that will shoot that good already.

I have my eye on the new Ataman Eganomic rifle in .30 caliber (not out yet). Been waiting for a regulated .30 cal. Check it out: https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Ataman_M2_Ergonomic_PCP_Air_Rifle_Walnut_Stock/4647/9086

Dennis fromIndiana Airguns where I got my Rosso just called. GOOD NEWS!! He said Daystate does have a reserve supply of Rosso stocks on thier way. The reason you can't just get one it because they will only be available to registered Rosso owners....obviously it's so you can't just buy one and put in on a non LE rifle.

SO HAPPY!!!

Daystate and Indiana Airguns provided top notch service! They did not leave me hanging! Thanks to them, and all the AGN members who helped me out. I’ll have plenty of video on the Red Wolf coming ASAP!
