    So she is here and I am happy to report better looking and shooting than I had ever hoped. I will be showing Michael McKeown's excelling packaging and some partly cloudy outdoor pics. Plan to get some better photos when the sun come back out. She feels incredibly balanced and seems to weigh less than the scale says. Michael's designs use a "minimally dropped" stock for a better bore axis alignment allowing a more straight recoil impulse. The numbers for the new Vortek tuned .22 caliber Hw80 action;

    weight w/ optic = 10 lbs 6 oz
    barrel length after choke removal = 17" approx w/o brake
    ten shot string with 12.34 grain Cuda greens
    1 – 847
    2 – 846
    3 – 848
    4 – 847
    5 – 851
    6 – 848
    7 – 846
    8 – 849
    9 – 848
    10 – 849
    average = 847 for 19.67 FPE
    extreme spread = 5
    standard deviation = 1
    50F 1800 ASL

    He only ended cutting off about two inches of barrel to remove the choke and re-crown her. She is shooting amazing so far and very accurate with my quicky sight-in and 30 yard shooting before dark. Seems just as accurate as my 11 fpe tuned Hw77 I use for HFT. I will be posting better pics, groups from the range day and some videos when I can. Enjoy these first few airgun porn pics from today…the first two pics and the crown shot are Michael's

    Michael McKeown at https://www.airgunstocks.com/

    His pricing on very nice walnut gun blanks are better than any competitor out there, His labor is very competitive with current custom stock carvers and as you can see the quality of work is amazing.

    Well let's just say "officially" he does not list his tuning services but he has been making his own springes awesome for years and he really knows what he is doing. His barrel shortening job is amazing and this rife is seriously shooting as accurately as my 11 fpe HFT Hw77 Mk2 so I am very happy. So as far as those services you would want to talk to him about fee etc as like I said he does not have pricing listed for his tunes as his main thing as always been the custom stocks. This was kind of a special long term project and the tune up and barrel work was decided at the 11th hour after we noticed she was shooting way too hot at close to 30 fpe. Yes is awesome now for sure!
