I have always been interested in the sport of Bell Target shooting.

When I was in Berlin in the mid to late 1970s, a couple of the pubs in the British Sector participated in the sport.

I made one for my use:

It uses a re-purposed fire alarm bell.

How clever! I am stuck with using fishing pole hanging bells for now. Wouldn't mind something a bit louder.

That looks the part, but I must admit to ignorance of the sport/practice. Can you tell us more? How does it work (side view picture)

Little tiny hole lets the pellet ring the bell.

    Whack! = missed

    DING! = hit

I'm curious, what caliber pellets and what size hole. It sounds like a lot of fun and fairly easy to make. Nice job by the way.

.177 and only low power is needed.

In England they shoot indoors, at the pub!

The pellet comes through the 3/8” hole and hits the metal plate (The plate is really not needed but I added it for more kinetic energy) and the plate swings on the door hinge allowing the bolt to hit the bell…😂

I can see with that design you can change the face plate to lessen the size of the kill zone too!

Never heard of this. I'd  like to see some plans.

I have a bell hung at 40 yds  and after I run through all my targets I like to ring the bell to end the session. Of  course my bell is larger and doesn't require precise  shooting but this looks like it could be fun and challenging .
