My JSAR Raptor

I'm in the crowd of had one for awhile, and shot it A LOT. I suspect I put more pellets downrange with mine than many others. 

I bought it with the intent of having a .20 gun and a high power .22 and being able to easily switch back and forth between them. 

It worked great as one or the other. The problem was the complicated tuning necessary for going back and forth. 

I tried a couple times prior to this to have one gun serve multiple roles, but the Raptor was the one that finally convinced me to let guns have a dedicated role and purpose. 

I ordered mine in 177 and went through the company's growing pains when they first came out. They got a bad batch of barrels (mine had one) and few other design considerations to overcome. It took a year to get and then another few months after sending it back for a new barrel and set up. All the while, communication was good.

These guns were designed with power in mind. They seem to be fit for 25 and 30 caliber shooting, not 177. Even though I had an adjustable regulator, I was told to keep it at the minimum setting. Therefore, I didn't exactly have an adjustable regulator. If I recall, the hammer setting was extremely critical also. I made a Stopping Spring Guide” – SSG to make adjustment a bit easier, but I still wasn't comfortable with the fact the gun was as critical to keep tuned as it was in the smaller caliber. Once adjusted, it was quite accurate giving me the ability to shoot one hole groups at 40 yards.

I am happy to see they weathered the storm and some bad press and are still in business. Anyone that wants a unique air rifle that has a bunch of power and can handle the wait, JSAR is worth looking into, but do read Motorhead's posts up top before making your choices.
