My Huben K1 .25 Problems

I have had my Huben K1 .25 for about 5 weeks now. A few hundred rounds in JSB MKll. Today I filled it to 4500 and loaded jsb mkll pellets pushing them in. On the second shot all the air dispersed. I thought it was blowing up in my face !!!!!! It did not fire. The latch for the magazine popped up and the magazine won't turn. I tried filling the gun a little and pulling the trigger again but all the air dispersed again. I tried pushing a rod down the barrel but it won't get past the baffle ? The end doesn't seem to come off ? I had one pellet jam before and it just made a loud popping air sound but fired correctly the second time.

I bought the gun from AOA. I have a message into them now.......edit as of now ....They are sending me a shipping label. They say this is a common thing and the pellet is just stuck. They said when the air won't go through it stays open and empties all the air. From my brief exposure that does not seem to be the case.

I don't have a solid .25 rod to push through I only have a .22 cleaner flexible rod but it won't go past the baffle.

I have spent so much money on air gun stuff and had a bunch of problems. I could have a couple top shelf firearms that would last a lifetime for the money I've spent.

I wanted to get a Huben for a while but it poses a bunch of problems. How to service ? My other much cheaper air guns all came with plastic cleaning rods and more instructions. On my Maruader the end just unscrews and you can take the baffles out. The end on the Huben doesn't seem to unscrew. The rep at AOA said you might need to use some heat on it. ? you mean like a blow torch ??? no

My first impression ....my .22 cleaning probe won't go past the baffle so the pellet is most likely jammed there. This would lead me to believe there is damage inside the gun.

Air guns are over priced and overly flimsy and finiky. Money wasted in most of cases.

that said, all guns jam and you have to know how to deal with that. Huben is not that hard to take apart - please do that and enjoy your purchase.

I took a new look at it this morning. I got the end off, removed the baffles and was able to get my rod through. I was able to push the pellet back and rotate the magazine. I removed the jammed pellet and was able to shoot the rest without an issue. The jammed pellet had a mark on the front but wasn't mangled.

So now I'm worried I didn't get the baffles back in right. The gun seems to shoot ok but I had a hard time getting them out. I'm not sure of the way they came out. I tried to keep them straight but they fell apart when they came out.

Hi,

I had exactly the same issue, new Huben K1 .22, finally had some free time to play with it.
Fist time use, put it to 130 bar, shot a few times to settle the regulator and noticed a first thing, regulator goes down to less then 100 bar and very slowly filled up again.

I decided to measure the speed and film it before going out and have some fun, put it to number 2 on the wheel, filled it with 280 bar, inserted the JSB Jumbo heavy nice and deep.
I take slow shots, as expected, speed was changing from 230 to 305 m/s
After 10 shots i decide to stop the recording and empty the magazine, 2 shots later and it blew up against my ear and neck! (shooting left handed...)

The magazine is stuck, all air released after the bang and the pressure meter is now freely rotating...

Why it happened is a total mystery for me, I've send a mail to Huben for help because i can't trust it ( i think i'm lucky the magazine at my ear side was already empty)

My Evanix Air speed never had this safety issue and is way easier to analyse and repair should something happen.

Hope they will help or replace it, i'm really disappointed, for that kind of money you would expect it to work at delivery...

I sort of had the same issue with the air blast. No pellet was stuck in mine though. I heard something rattling around inside to cheek cover so I took it all apart. Pretty easy to do. Just make sure and bleed off the air through the top screw on the breech. I didn't since my reg was showing almost 0. Wrong. Still had a few hundred psi in the reg area that wouldn't drain in the normal way. I got a small surprise when I took off the air tank. Since the reg was showing almost 0 and it wouldn't fire or drain down anymore I thought I was safe. Its a simple yet complicated gun but is very easy to work on. Very ingenious.

One of the screws that hold the front of the mag block to the rear had come out. I had to realign my barrel as it was way off and shaving pellets. Not that hard to do if you are mechanically inclined. I wish I would have taken pics but you can watch Gregor's videos to see how to tear it down.

As far as the shroud goes just loosen the three screws and remove only the front one. There is a slot in the tube the front screw goes thru to hold it in place. After removing that one loosening the rear ones it just slides off. No need to mess with the baffles.

Good luck.

I own both the Huben, and a LCS SK19. Both are loads of fun, and very accurate too. I think most of the problems are linked to shooting with to low of a psi. I try to top off to 4000psi after 3 mags, 4 is kinda stretching it. Get too low on air, and it will jam a pellet, and dump all the air, and cause brown streaks. These are still a fairly new design, and I'm sure changes will be made as time goes on. I do love the hammer-less action, and the hole in hole follow up shots.😁

Hi,

Thx for the info, I'm living in Belgium so it's a bit far 😋

Anyway, Huben answered my mail and I'm sure we will find a solution.

I will keep you all informed about the fix, fingers crossed.

Lieven

I'm living in Belgium too, and interested in buying the Huben. Any way I can contact you, and ask a few questions about your experience so far with the Huben? Best regards, Willem
