My hog hunting setup

The mailman just delivered the Wicked Lights Hog Hunting Kit. I have my DIY scope mount which works very well for $8, eagle vision scope mount, casio camera, and of course the wicked lights. Going to test out the setup tonight and might go out this weekend to try it out on jackrabbits. The hold setup weights 12.6 pounds. I will be going on my first hog hunt next week's weekend in Texas and I'm looking forward to it. 

 
Super cool set up man, I'll bet that hing will pulverize some jack rabbits! I'm a little worried about you trying to kill a Texas hog with it though, I figure you're hell bent on it and I won't be able to talk you out of trying so I'll just say aim for the ear I guess. I've hunted hogs for practically all my life, I won't let my buddies bring a .223 with me on a hunt due to a lack of power. Definitely don't try a shoulder or neck shot, wait for a broadside shot and put it just barely barely in front of the ear. Good luck.

And if you see something that weighs as much as you do, you'd be better off waiting


BTW where the dirt is sticking, that's my shot, between the eye and ear, I'm suggesting you shoot about 1/2" behind that

ok. I just got done with messing around with this setup I have and it doesn't work with the scope-cam. The screen is just to dark in the LDC display. It looks ok when the camera is not recording but as soon as you hit record, the screen is to dark to see. You can make out the glare of eyes and a body silhouette. Too bad because I was hoping to record some night hog shooting. The NiteSite is so much better.

FYI: if you are thinking if getting wicked lights set up, don't waste your money. I can see better with my vehicle headlights then this peace of junk. The best light to use is the red led and you can just make out a rabbit at 30 yards and you can see the eyes to about 50 even though it is advertised you can see the eyes out to 300 yards. I would scan an area with these lights and I pick up nothing. I take out my spotlight and 10 rabbits are everywhere. I should have just bought a 60.00 200,000 Lumina torch. Nitesite is a much better setup and worth the extra twice the cost. I'm hoping this setup will work against hogs but I'm very skeptical it will work and I wish Nitesite would have their new model available in the U.S.
