I wonder what is keeping all PCP makers from going to foster fill method instead of probes? I can't think of any advantage that probes have over a foster

I prefer the Foster quick connect, my old eyes need a flashlight to find the hole for the probe. My 2 cents

Aesthetics? Hard to have a foster and clean lines without recessing the fitting which can make it hard to get to.

Myself I feel a lot safer filling a fixed foster - marauder no problem .I just hate fill probes myself . (Plus they can make extra $ for the fitting for the probe)

Most everyone hates fill probes! Just another senseless part to keep up with and replace. And buy a foster adapter for!

As a consumer base, if enough of us make our voices heard I believe companies will listen. It's worked for screw top lids from pellet mfg's and listing pellet lengths AND more options for .30 pellet types (all to be happening this year) . Maybe we can do the same for fill probes. Bottom line though, $ makes the world go round & selling proprietary parts makes them MONEY!

I like my fill probes,, if fact,If I have a foster fill gun, I would change to a probe. YES there are many who like their fosters, that is OK
just not for everyone
some just leave the probe in the gun and put a rubber cap on the male foster

They should just charge a little more and include a foster fitting with the gun. I ordered a gun and a pump and now I am waiting for the blasted adapter to come in.

It wouldn't be as bad if they all used a universal probe if they didn't use a foster. I have some probes that are so similar that I have to try them before I know which is the right one.

I despise probes !! Why even have them... Same with low cheek pieces when most of us use a scope !!!

Not that I'm a millionaire but I wont buy another probe gun. All that have them I'm thru with your lame engineering. To make it even worse FX does both. Really.. Compact and WC are probe and Impact is not. LAME....

I. With the majority replying back, as being a fan of the Marauder style QD fill system. Simple, no added fittings to buy, and no o rings to have to replace. Having only two PCP’s that use a probe, I guess I don’t mind it only because the one probe works for both my Hercules Bully and my FX Wildcat. Now, if I owned a bunch of pcp guns like some folks, and all the probes were proprietary, then yes, I would have the same complaint as Mr. BD.
Huma designed a gage to go on the end of the marauders pressure pipe, so you could read actual gun pressure, which is handy for regulated marauders cause the factory gage reads regulated pressure. In making this aftermarket mod, I believe it turns the Marauder now into a fill probe use gun. Having said all of this, I wonder if anyone has designed a conversion kit to go from fill probe fill to male foster QD fills. I believe that could easily be done to pressure pipe guns, but I don’t know about bottle fed, unless a regulator was placed in front of the bottle, like the JSAR Raptor gun is.
i believe to date I only know of one big big fan of fill probes, and has said he despises male foster QD systems, and that’s the pig hunter on GTA. He sure loves those probes.

Probes suck!! They get lost and at that point guns worthless in the field. I usually keep them attached to the fill whip and wrap tape around it. Ugggg one of those things that only happens once.
