You do know, there are much more effective ways to hunt for deer. Could always be worse.

If I cared to post a video it shows the deer speeding up as I get closer. I wonder if the other deer dared it to attack my car. Young bucks can be influenced so easily.

Funny thing is, there was a huge buck walking along the wrong side of a really winding busy road early (dark) in the morning as I was going to work in my little Miata. I can’t imagine that someone didn’t hit it. Then I park and get on AGN & read your story.

Just put two roadkill does in a week that ended up in my driveway out for the buzzards and coyotes-I was hoping they might be fresh enough to-(ahem) make use of, but no luck on that :(

There are those things that can be attached to the car like a critter scare device like an ultrasonic whistle that you can attach to your inside of your car grill to chase them off before you hit them.

Its passive and works by air as you drive.

That's mighty light damage for a deer hit. I may be the deer hitting king on the forum as I have took out 7 deer in 35 years of driving 10,000 gallon gasoline tanker. Two went through the radiator and the rest took out lights, bumpers, stuck deer hair all through the side bands on my saddle fuel tanks, one got wrapped around the drive shaft between the front axle and the drive axles, one went into the wheel weld and cut his head off and the antlers stuck through the fiber glass. The worst I ever saw was a woman driving about 3 AM in the morning and the deer jumped just before she hit it causing it to go through the front windshield. I pulled over as I saw what happened and she almost lost control of her car. When I got to her she was screaming … she wasn't hurt but there was blood everywhere inside the car. The temperature was in the low teens and the warm blood was letting off a great deal of steam or fog inside the car. When I opened the back door, the fawn that the doe was carrying … slid out of the doe and went splat on the road. GROSS!!!

I always used deer whistles and still had 7 collisions with deer … don't know if they worked or not … might have had 20 hits if I hadn't used them.

Another problem I had was power lines that were hanging low with ice accumulation on them. You never see them until you hit them … and all of a sudden BLAM! and both your windshields blow out throwing glass all over you and all over the cab.
