My first real purchase!

  • My first real purchase

Just wanted to thank everyone for the help with choosing a gun and getting some good info. Its been many years since i pellet shot and really didnt know much about higher end stuff. I had a few crosman pumls whuch were 100% awesome for cost/reliability/fun.

Theres so many damn good options it was really hard to decide! I found out fast you cant just buy one gun;)

So to start and since ive never owned a pcp thats what i got. I picked up a Gauntlet in .177.
Price.... $232! And grabbed 2 extra mags for $7. $266 shipped, how can you beat that? I know its a little heavy and maybe not a FX but it has some great features for a beginner! I thought if i love it , itll be perfect time to buy another in 2018 when the lower costing pcp wars begin.
My next gun is definitely going to be something that will last a lifetime.
HW, Diana, TX200! Hw97k! And looking forward to a sweet pistol too!

    Those guns are craftsmanship.
    The Gauntlet is technology.

For now im ordering a $40 ebay pump to feel the pain so i will appreciate a yong heng compressor when i get one.

Are there any good auto reset targets?
Or are you guys using diy targets when not punching paper?

    Pellet recommendations?

String tied to cotton cloth with goo gone is how i should clean in and out?

Any other tips or must do mods would be appreciated as well.

Thanks again to this great forum!

I also like Field Targets, Gamo or otherwise. Lot's of fun and just keep using smaller & smaller reducers as you improve.

Barrel cleaning a pull through ( aka crown saver ) is what I like to use. And even your lowly Gauntlet - love mine- with just a few oring replacements should out last you.

If you stopped on in the your nearest FT match you could test fire every springer you mention and trying before buying is best.
