My Dreamlite Tactical Compact

Ha! A joke! You can order one but NOBODY knows when they will be shipped or probably even if on the manufcturing line. Screw it! I said I'll make my own. So I'll have to buy an after market folding stock. And after some inquiry with Utah Airguns and FX, and even FX couldn't tell me the twist rate of the shorter barrel on the compact is as FX hasn't relesed that info to FXUSA, I took that brand new unshot rifle to a good gunsmith and told him to cut off the barrel. I decided somewhere between 380 and 400mm would be the correct length. It came with a 600mm barrel. The gunsmith called me back and told me it would be not easy do as the tube around the barrel itself would be an issue. He said he didn't want to hurt the rifle and it would take significant time to include the shroud integrity. I asked how much. He said between $200-$250 . I told him to 'do it!'

Hopefully I'll have a dreamlite tactical with the carbon fiber bottle, not the puny one thats destined to come with the FX version, ask UA about the shot count in .25 (they told me less than 15} beacuse they had to use the steel bottle because of intereference with the shroud.

I think mine will not be as short as the FX version but it ought to be OK. If not I just return it to it's original form and buy another barrel. From what I have learned the FX version will be shorter than mine and I've heard anywhere between 300 and 380mm. Neither UA or FX could/would tell me for sure.

I'll have lots of time with a chonograph and targets to find the right tune for the mods I asked to be made. I have other rifles for stuff over 25 yards and maybe my mod will still shoot good up to 50 or 75 yards. It's main purpose is going to be for inside a barn and in my case those shots can be measured in feet. After I start shooting and measuring I'll tell you what I found.

Shame on you FX for letting Mat and others to 'review' this and show it then showing video at shot shows, with carbon fiber bottle, and probably at that time it wasn't even in production. Another long wait for an advertised rifle. Witness the bullpup with bottle. Another joke I waited for.

This is an expensive gamble. But at least "I" am the one rolling the dice.

Darth Vader would say "Ah, the addiction is strong in this one. He makes his own Dreamline Tactical Compact." It's your choice to make whether to wait or have it now and it's a great choice to have. The fact that you can build your own is a great thing. Yup it do take them quite a while to get the guns we just have to have into our hands for sure. I wanted one the same as you but settled on an SK-19 cuz I found one was available and in stock.

I'd heard it was 320mm in 22, although people that have them and have measured say 380, Ive heard stated the 25 is longer? I'm not sure. but 320 does sound right for the power output they have. 380mm is pretty perfect (and you ought to be able to order a liner to fit as FX made them for the continuums) I have my 380 shooting 16gr at 960fps @131bar. Plenty of power. And all the accuracy.

I'm in the same boat

I wanted 380mm barrel but with carbon tank

Matt had one 380 with skinny shroud

If you try to order, it only shows with much bigger shroud from Crown

you can't put carbon tank on that one I already measured, shroud is too big for carbon tank

Went to local dealer and he went through all options and wasn't able to find that

FX site only has listed different options but no pictures

AGD is saying .17 .22 - 500mm barrel .25 .30 - 600mm but only Dreamline Light with carbon bottle no Compact

I hope someone can point us in the right direction, looks like somehow 380mm skinny exist

they are obviously making 380mm STX liners for Crown Continuum

And they have skinny shroud on Dream-Pup but it's 500mm not 380
