My DAR Gen 2 .25 Came In Today

I got my dar 25 today. Decided to get on the hype train.

Mine came with a leak. There's a tiny hole in the air cylinder and it is leaking there. We'll see how this goes with the support folks.

Slow leak or fast leak? Was there air in it when it arrived?

Leaking there means it’s one of the two O-rings on the regulator body. Pretty easy to replace them but I can understand not wanting to work on a new rifle. I would because dealing with a return usually takes as much time and I can be shooting in an hour. If they didn’t change the size in the gen 2, they are size -117.

Taking it apart voids the warranty. Just so ya know. That's my understanding on the phone call. Asked for schematics: none available to the public.

Yeah a brand new leaking rifle. Wonderful. Everyone should expect leaking rifles. I've had four now in the last 9 months: Edgun Matador from Utah Airguns (which also was mistuned and wouldn't cycle the magazine never buy guns from these goons. I fixed their glitch and dx'ed their a$$), Benjamin Marauder from AirgunDepot (leaking fill port that I fixed), Daystate Revere from Airguns of Arizona (in the shop ain't dealing with it) and this Dar 25. And you know what screw that. I am tired of fixing sh!t when it's brand new. They shouldn't ship this way. But I am going to give them the chance at DAR to make it right and it sounded like they would..

anyone know some chrony, shot count, energy etc. numbers for the .22? its very hard to find any information on this gun but i sent back my avenger because it was leaking after 1 fill and i have a hand pump so i cant even pump it fully...

Have you tried calling the company?

I just got the .25, so I can't help.

i have not but i just heard abut this gun today and i cancelled my avenger order today because i was sick of waiting and found these forums after i paid for it and found lots of valuble information on the avenger that i wish id known before

This is a very good clear and bright scope on a budget with nice BDC reticle that's totally useable and makes sense for airguns. 30mm side focus with lifetime warranty that's easy on the wallet. I have one on my Taipan Veteran shorty and couldn't be happier (unless I later swap it with an Alpha6 but it cost more than double this price actually triple the price if the seller on EBay takes your $65 MAKE OFFER offer.)

Buy from Wal-Mart locally or online cheaper than Crosman. Or Ebay offer $65 to this seller. Still worth the $79 asking price though. Crosman is only reference only. Buy from EBay make offer or drive to your local Wal-Mart or if they're out order online Free shipping and they have 100% 10/10 positive feedback from customers who bought this scope ordering from them. It's pretty damn clear for such an affordable scope with a lifetime warranty.

Air leaking out the vent hole was the problem I had on the gen 1 DAR two years ago, this is the first one I've read about on a gen 2, hope it's not a pattern. For those with poppet/valve problems on the Avengers, many of us here and on the GTA expressed our concerns about this, I even went so far as to email Air Venturi about the problem before Rifles were released to the public, never received a response from them. If they knew about the issues on the Nova Liberty's, and on their own Aspen before production began, they chose to just ignore the problem. Same with the regulator creep issue, now they're gonna have to address these problems or face mass returns and loss of sales. I hope they show the same concern that Aim Sports did in trying to resolve manufacturing issues on the DAR's.

I ordered a .22 on Friday and waiting for contact to make payment...kinda weird way to do business but I guess that's how they're keeping the cost down!

If this rifle is all its cracked up to be I might buy all 3 calibers...will be great light weight hunting rigs and won't be so nervous about putting it in my brother's hands for hunting trips...like I am putting one of my Huntsman's in his paws!!! Lol

Hi James,

I can tell you that they have made some necessary improvements from the 1st gen. If you haven't watched Dana's video, he really gives it a once over. One of the problems he found was that the cap at the end of the reservoir was quite loose. That's the 1st thing I checked and it was/is very snug. It actually requires some effort. It then comes off very smoothly. The magazine was only slightly loose, as Dana reported, but it isn't going anywhere.

I haven't fired mine yet, the hand-pump is still a week away.
