My Brocock XL S6 review

Here are some facts about the Brocock Contour XL S6 and some things to consider...
  • The walnut stock shown on the OP's rifle is the current stock shipping on both the Contour XL and XL Elites. I verified this by checking the Brocock website. This makes better business sense from a manufacturing perspective.
  • Though I am not making any excuse for retailers or even manufacturers to intentionally provide inaccurate specs or pictures, this is not just found with Brocock but for other rifles and brands as well. Heck, the FX website doesn't even show their FT (Field Target) line of products. I challenge anyone find any mention of a .25 cal Air Wolf on Daystate's website. While you are there, see if you can find the specs on the Wolverine B Hi Lite. Any luck?
  • There are other retailers than AOA that sell the Brocock line of rifles. Try giving Jim a call over at Precision Airguns and Supply or check out Pencetta  a small boutique in Scottsdale AZ which is also an authorized Brocock retailer that I have personally visited quite a few times in person. Hint: Pencetta carry some of the rarer pellet types and sizes and often have pellets in stock when others don't. Finally, the Brocock is carried by Straight Shooters who will be happy to ship by any carrier you like, just let them know when ordering.

I just called AOA. They told me both guns are available in .22 caliber only. The stocks on both models are identical. They do not come with a thumbhole. The energy ratings are identified correctly on their website. The salesman told me they are waiting on new updated pics from Brocock to reflect the stocks being the same on both guns.
I would think the higher priced gun would have a higher energy rating, but such is not the case. Just my luck.

BTW, LDM, I didn't mean to hijack your thread. I really like the looks of your gun. In fact, I am probably gonna order one just like it. Good review too.

Sprocket - love the banter that is going on about the gun.... just hope those that get one like it as much as I do. Spent part of Sunday shooting groups small green cherry tomatoes that I hung on a fence at 135'. I could just pick them off one at a time. Nice splats!

And yes, the G6 has a synthetic stock. I've heard they are nice. Other than that, it's the same gun.

First time i saw this thread they are really good shooters i little temperamental but i can live with it I'm actually waiting for a new fill adaptor with a gauge for my xl s6 i saw one on brocock owners group so I'm having one made hopefully I'll get it in a few weeks also just wanted to note my brocock was getting 25 fpe when i got it and i cut 2 coils of the spring and took it down to 23 fpe and get 14 good shots i made some baffles out of water bottle caps and my huggett it's really quiet. ..this it's my main varmit gun ariund the house and I've taken lots of chucks with it

bdb - Mine is just an amazing shooter... if I'm shooting 12-16 shots from a 2900 psi fill, or shooting off my scuba tank. I've tried overfilling the gun to get more shots but the accuracy goes to hell. I can't wait for some starlings to show up in the yard this spring. Love the water bottle cap baffle system. I'm going to try that!

Damage - I think you are right on the Elite, and that manometer costs an extra $300. As for the stocks, I think they just decided to only make one stock to keep their inventory simpler.

Just out shooting the XL S6 from a bench with a bipod plus a sand bag in the back, and teathered to my CF tank, which has 2500 psi in it. The Target was at 36 yards with a slight wind from the left. 5 of 6 shots went into the same hole with the 6th close by. Love this gun! Keep thinking I need to buy another powerful PCP but I just love this Brocock!
Shooting JSB 15's around 765. The strap on the NC moderator is for a nightlight.
