My Brand New Umarex Octane 22 cal

First off i know that there are many more costly air guns that could be bought but not by me i am on a fixed income & it took me almost 2 full years to be able to afford my Octane I have left a couple of other forums because some of the uppity snobby members that have more money than respect of other people we all can't afford a $2,000.00_ air gun . Fellas i didn't make my choice to go with the Octane i read watched every review or video on this air gun i could find & i contacted & talked x a lot to Umarex & asked some tougher question like how many defective unit came back in 6 months time & i felt that Umarex was being honest in answering my questions . So i wound up ordering me a brand new UMAREX Octane & 4 tins of various lead & one tin copper plated & also a tin of those Polymags 16.0 grain Hunting Pellets what i did wad to keep the weight of the pellets i bought as close to 16.0 grains as possible so when i go Squirrel Hunting i wont have to waste hardly any to fine tune my gun on in to zero I am hoping that this is good & friendly site for all Air Gunners !!
Thank All Of Ya fellas

Welcome trapper. There has been very little posted on this forum regarding the Octane ( at least I haven't seen it). We would love to hear your opinion on this rifle. If you can, post some pictures of the rifle, groups, and your first impressions on the gun. Our discussions go from the Disco to the Steyr. Michael runs a tight ship and trys to stop any brand bashing and only allows legitimate criticism.
I hope you feel welcome here,

Doc

Hope you enjoy it and keep us posted. Having never heard if oit I had to look it up, not too much info as it's newish? Tom Gaylord did do a write up and had some pictures of the trigger group - the better you can make the trigger ( AFTER warranty is up) the easier to get good groups. Naturally you will need to learn how it wants to be held/shot. Many springers - gas spring or metal spring not much difference to me- like to be held very lightly allowing it to move and many do not respond well to shooting off a hard rest.\
Chrony numbers with real pellets seem to be in the 800+fps range, more than enough for out to 50 yards if you do your part ( and the rifle is good).
Take some pictures and share then eh?

And, have you searched for other airgun folks in your area? To me that is THE way to research and learn about airguns.

Welcome to the Nation. I can honestly say that I have had nothing but positive feed back in this forum. The Octane will serve you well with practice. I shoot springer rifles as often as I shoot my PCP's. Both are challenging and all take practice shooting to be successful. Shoot it and enjoy the sport. If you have questions on anything you find during your shooting I have found that there are many here that can give valuable constructive advise. Good luck and again enjoy the rifle.

Thank You Sir I am looking for some help & i will find it here on AIR GUN NATION I just finished sighting my Octane @ 15 yds .I do have a question do i clean out the bore i am treating it like i do a firearm . I have heard that a bore won't be accurate un til it's had at least 500 times before the accuracy if that's the case mine achived hole to hole under 60 shots & i have the target to show that it's not a lie or i am bending any rules of honesty .I can scan & send ya a copy of the target if you would like
