My Baby Uragan was delivered today.

Big thanks to Tony at Talon Tunes for sending a really nice Uragan Compact .22 as a little brother to my .30 Uragan.

I had been looking at this gun and never pulling the trigger for over a year. I just didn't know the brand. That changed with the .30 Uragan Standard as I now knew that AGT was delivering a quality product that fits me like a glove.

Unpacked and thought man this is a really compact rifle. A few shots, very pleased, but a touch loud. Went forward with installing the Huma reg I got with it. Set the reg to 110 and figured I would start there with a tune and see what power I'm getting out of it. Wow - with H&N Barracuda 18s getting 850 fps with the HS setting the gun came with. Released a little HS pressure to bring that down to 800 fps. Might even be able to drop the reg down to 100 bar, but going get to know the rifle as it is for now. Much quieter with the lower reg setting.

Well update more once I get some shooting in with it.

@ctshooter That is a nice looking set up. You don’t see many baby uragans especially with the wood stock.

P.s. I think the “babies” look better than the big boy Uragans.

Thanks - Tony said he picked out a nice one and I agree. I think I'll oil it up over the weekend after hitting it with some super fine steel wool. It's got a really nice finish that I think will take very well to oil.

congrats on the new toy!

I love my Uragan Compact .22 It may get a big brother soon. I love the shot count, the 300 bar fill and is just as, if not more accurate than the impact. At least to 50 yards. stacking pellets. It probably is more consistent than the impact. I need to find a place around here to go beyond 50. I promised myself not to touch this one for a while. One of those guns that I know shoots better than I can.

Knife - that's some serious power and accuracy you're getting out of the .25. Did you have to do additional work and porting to get the power up there with the limited plenum space?

The Compact is going to be a fun little back yard plinker and target shooter for me so I've detuned it quite a bit. Reg is down to 100 bar and pushing the Barracuda 18s @ 700 fps. Accuracy is definitely up there but I haven't shot for groups yet as I'm still getting to know the gun.

So far I think I want to make the trigger a small bit lighter. Other than that I really like the ergonomics of the gun. I've got a big hand and the Uragan has a nice big grip for me - if you have tiny hands it might be too big. I don't know why more makers don't put an adjustable butt stock on - saves a lot of grief trying to find the 'right' rings.

Yes sir, I did a few mods. Opened the barrel port to .251 to match the bore for slugs and added a Huma reg and one 22 thou shim for higher pressure. I did increase the hammer spring tension.

That's it!

Knife - that's very impressive.

I've got a problem I'd like your input on as I've noticed an issue since installing the Huma reg. I can't be sure how off the reg is, but it seems like it's way off from the scale on the side - like 30- 40 bar off. I've gotten it set at what I believe is 70 bar, but I can't be sure. Thing is the speed has been all over the place. I think we're past regulator creep at this point as I've got the H&N 18 set for 700 fps - or thought I did until I refilled the gun. At full fill it's shooting 690ish and by the time the gauge is reading around 120 the speed is up to 730-740 fps.

I'm going to put the stock reg back in and see if the fluctuations go away.

Any input would be appreciated as my .30 is super stable in terms of fps string from a full tank fill down to 160 bar.
