So, where do I start? I got hit with a bit of good luck this past week, that’s just escalated into more good luck. Let’s start with day 1:

Early last week I solidified a deal with a seller here on the AGN classifieds for my first ever FX gun. I swore that one of those was out of my reach, and although I’m happy with my mid priced marauder and Hatsan Bully, an FX was always “calling my name- AAAUUUUGGGIIIEEE!!!!”

so so I truly lucked out, and met this great guy on AGN, who agreed to hold the gun(an FX Wildcat MK2 in 30?cal- oh boy!) till wifey got home in a few minutes. Wifey says yes to the buy😲😲👍👍, so as I told her I was gonna call back the seller to arrange shipment, she says “shipment?? Go pick it up!!”

now mind you, that’s a 10 hour drive, which I explained to my wife. She says “so what?! Go and enjoy yourself. You worked 32 years and you’re finally retired, this is your hobby, go take a road trip and just enjoy yourself!” I called the seller back and told him my plans!

next day she got on priceline.com, mapped out my path, and scored me three new guts in hotels. 3 nights? For 10 hour drive? Yes, with my back surgery fusion from last year, it’s tough for me anymore to take long hauls. So she mapped it out where the longest I’d be on the road would be 6 hours, then hotel.

From the foothills in CA it’s 1-5 all the way. Well, I have to go see the legends at JSAR, right? So today is day one of three on my journey. I got to meet both Matt’s, Jacob the owner, and Mr Marauder himself, Travis Whitney.

I came unexpected, on a work day(for them) and I’m quick to see if I’m overstepping my visit to anyone. So I kept apologizing for taking their time. Matt(silentmatt on the forums) took the time to show me the place, and unboxed every FX they had on hand(brand new, fresh out of the box) and let me handle them!! You Impact guys? For the longest time I always wondered what the big deal was, but now I see! What an awesome gun!! Same with the Crown and Dreamline!!!

Travis? That guy is amazing, as he showed me his “testing and repair room”, along with a prototype of something that he’s concocting. Got to use that new breech lever they designed for the marauder, and then Matt took me for a tour of their machine shop! How cool is that?

come to find out, they manufacture two cool parts for the Wildcat, so I bought them, and the owner Jacob simplified the purchase for me and also gave me some show and tell!!

So after the purchase I walked out to my truck, shot the breeze with Travis for a bit, and off to Klamath for my first hotel stay. Currently as I’m typing this, I’m having a corona and a shot of blanco pedrone to help slowly come down from cloud 9! Tomorrow is another venture, as I go pick up the Wildcat!

Stay tuned!!

Bigragu Sounds like your having fun & stopping in at the candy store . I too plan a trip this early summer to visit JSAR ,you mentioned Klamath , is the next part of you trip north on 97 ? if so watch out for the deer they have migrated this time of year but there is still a lot of locals around . Have fun & I bet that trip home will be faster with the new toy ! Keep us posted Darell

Congratulations on your new gun and fun. Is that you 1st pic on the right?

It’s all the crew of JSAR. Matt to the left and Travis to the right, and the solo pic is of the owner Jacob. I missed taking the pic of the other Matt, because apparently he’s all about business. I watched him, and he looked like he really was into his work, and enjoying it. Nothing wrong with that, I actually like that in a person. When I was running crews back in the day that’s what I looked for when putting together man power crews, people that don’t get distracted easily and stay focused at task at hand.

Its 9:00am as I’m typing this, and I’m just getting up from bed, lol. I’ll be on the road for four hours on my way to the seller. I’ll try and do a couple of selfie pics with the WC in hand, lol. The seller just bought an Impact, so I’ll take a pic of him with his gun, too!

You all know what I feel like? Remember that scene in Dumb and Dumber, when Jim Cary and his buddy were on the road to the Colorado Rockies in that van, and his buddy says “we’re really doing it, man!” Yeah, that’s me this weekend, lol

Well, guys and gals, the baby is carefully cradled in my arms. I can’t believe I own an FX, I own a Wildcat, it is the latest and the greatest, its only two weeks old, it’s a 30 cal, and most importantly I’m never gonna forget this dumb and dumber road trip(I’m Jim Carey, and me answering back to my questions is Jeff Daniels). All big thanks and praises go to my awesome wife of 32 years, who deserves a mate much better than I (just sayin’). She’s not only fine, but she’s a best friend, whose had my back thru all the back surgery BS I put her thru. Just to give you an idea how tough she is, she’s jack hammered a 4’ wide x 30 concrete walkway, at 5’2” 125, and been by my side 100% when I got in a major accident at work that was gonna out me as twins with Christopher Reeves- paralyzed from neck down. But I pulled out from that, and 7 surgeries later she’s still at my side. She has set up all my hotel stays at pretty decent places, and took the time to call the hotel management to make sure I had easy access(this snow in the parking lots suck, btw).

Anyway, I had dinner with the seller. I input him on my phone as Wildcat Bill, but here on AGN He goes by BANJOANDME. Great guy. I couldn’t ask for a better guy to buy a slightly used FX from. He made sure the warranty was transferable to me, and provided not only all the “stuff” that came with the gun, but insight on how it shoots and what it likes. He even let me shoot his Impact!!!!

So, I’m beat, and looking forward to trashing these bed sheets. But for now, after Day 2 of my road trip, I’m having some medications in form of a pedrone shot and some in house dark beer. I’ll be sending you some pics of the gun, out of it’s case, in bed with me😲😲😳

shes a beautiful thing under the The mood lighting. Probe, magazine, FX moderator all came with the purchase, and the barrel band shroud with pic rails, along with the picatinny scope rail is from JSAR. Truly well machined add ons for this gun.

So, tomorrow, it’s road trip #3 back home and staying back in Klamath, which is 4+ hours away, then on Sunday it’s from Klamath to home.

I had to secretly sneak this gun in the soft gun case into the hotel, lol. I don’t know why, but while prepping for this sneak attack out at my truck, I kept hearing the mission impossible song in my head. Got it up to my room no problems

Bigragu Your smile say's it all !! Congrates on the new toy ! Looks like you have nice weather for your trip back home. I have relatives in K-falls & used to go there every summer when I was a kid , I still go there fishing . The hill in the picture over your left shoulder is a dead giveaway of the town your spending your night in (lol ) . My brother & I use to hunt elk in the Diamond Lake area years ago . I have put many miles on 97 so just about know all of the landmarks. Have a safe trip & don't forget something for the wife they too like surprise's Lets see the cat when it has some eyeballs on her. It was a great experience to meet you Auggie. You're my new best friend. I know you and that WC are going to have some great times together.

For you members following this road trip, here's how it came to be.

When Auggie and I first spoke on the phone the conversation covered a lot of ground, from airguns to our background to some great jokes. I told him he would be a great guy to have for a neighbor. He really is one of the most likable people i've ever met. So his wife suggested that since we hit it off so well, he should go meet me in person and pick up the WC . I'm glad he did.

We talked and texted while he was on the road. Oregon ( my home), is a beautiful place and Auggie got to see a lot of it. We had dinner at the Barlow Trail Roadhouse which is a log structure building sitting at the foothills of Mt. Hood in the Cascade range. Post card worthy.

I am amazed how selling my WC turned into a mini saga of The WC Road Trip.

Auggie, you're AWESOME. Safe trip home my friend.

Your new best friends, Banjo and Bill.
