My $300 guns finally arrived

I was a little late to the party getting on the Avenger bandwagon. Didn’t pre order until late June. Both the .177 and the .25 Avengers arrived earlier this week. Absolutely no time until now to tinker with them. The one I’m most anxious to test is the .177 (pictured). It’s going to be the FT loaner IF it shoots worth a darn. I don’t want someone wanting to experience the sport shooting with a shotgun. I’ve not seen any test/reviews in the .177 caliber and my decision to purchase one was based solely on the reported performance of the .22 and .25’s. It doesn’t have to shoot lights out. It’s a loaner gun remember? Just has to be reasonable for a $300 gun.
Going to be windy tomorrow with a lull in the weather Saturday and wind picks back up Sunday. I’ll do some groups and post them as soon as possible for those that may have their eye out for an econo HFT gun.
With a minor reg adjustment lowering it about 50 bar, I was able to bring it down about 100 FPS. Out of the box it was shooting hot (for FT) at about 1015 on a 10.34 pellet and now it’s down to 920. I am not going to do a shot string. It only needs to get 60-80 shots on a fill and I’m confident it can accomplish that on a full 300 bar fill.
I did do a 10 shot string and got a very acceptable 6.90 ES with a 2.44 SD. Not bad.
Trigger is heavy but predictable out of the box. Not match grade of course. A slight creep in 2nd stage. Before I start monkeying with it, I’ll shoot it as is and see what needs to be done.
EDIT... OK I can be a trigger snob.. I was able to get it down to break at a respectable 1lb. 5oz.
